  1. Hi richmond i did plastic models of ships ,cars,trucksand planes up till i was about 25 .i just started January last year and now i am on my 2nd ship. Cheers snowy
  2. Hil Richmond My name is snowy also in darwin I get my models from modellers central ,great range of ships and timber and accessories also fittings . So far i have built the Amati adventure which took 12 months and i am now 7 months into the occre 1/82 scale frigate diana .   3. Hi all Wanted to put in a review of Spanish frigate diana This is my second build the first being the starter kit amati adventure beginner kit from modellers central . I found it has great plans with step by step instructions,up to 108 pages and then 3 other huge a3 or larger sail , mast and rigging plans double sided . The other thing i liked is heaps of materials eg timbers. Overall i just think this occre kit is great Thanks all. Ps : this is where I'm at.
  4. Now im working on the occre frigate diana 1/82 scale. It's harder but fun. Im 6 months in.
  5. Hey mate how you going For something different have you looked at fishing boats like the trotameros a leisure craft or the palamos a fishing vessel good luck
  6. Hi mate nice build . I personally like to put the side bulwark planking on first then start from the centre with the deck planking and working my way out good luck.
  7. Ok no reply maybe just try to drill and put in dowels with epoxy glue. How that sound.
  8. How a going mate I started building wood ships a year and a half ago . My first ship was the amati adventure beginner klt with tools from modellers central. I totally enjoyed it over 9 months

  11. Hi guys Im building the Spanish frigate diana by occre 1/85 scale. Just wondering how to fix the back quarters between the Windows on theback of the ship as i have never done these before. Thanks Snowy Ps: these are not fixed yet and have to be painted.

  15. Hi backer I did my ship the adventure with a colour i found in a book by frank mastini called tallow. It's just white with 3 or 4 drops of yellow and 2 or 3 drops of black mixed together .cheers good luck

Hey mate how ya going I recently built the amati adventure and it called for an off white colour called tallow .i found a book called ship modelling simplified by frank mastini ( great book) i recommend it to all, but anyway the colour was white with 2 or three drops of black and 3 or drops of yellow ,i think it turned out great good luck.
