Hey mate Gday snowy here from dawin i believe all of the above is true . I highly recommended frank mastini s book ship models simplified. I personally got the amati adventure as my first kit but i didn't start it for about 2 months after i bought it.first i bought books and looked at other builds . But i think most importantly i looked at my plans for the build for over a month to understand everything .i tried understand all and dry fit and glue once Good luck and enjoy Snowy

Hi guys I have pre made sails on my occre diana kit , all 21 of them. My question is when i did my amati adventure kit it had a 1.3 mm rope tied around All the edges. Do you guys reckon i should put this thread arond the pre made sails . Or when you have pre made sails is this not done. Cheers snowy

Hi mate nice build I was thinking of doing the vanguard by amati or the sanitisma Trinidad by occre but this ship could be next You said the timber wasnt great Could you tell me if the plans are good or great and are they're sails to go on her I mean are they supplied in fabric or pre made Sorry mate just answering lots of questions cause i live in Darwin and we have not got a model shop Thanks. She looks great

Hi jason Depending on size i now use eyebolts from spotlight stores in the hobby area and they come in all different sizes and colour Good luck Cheers snowy

Hi cpddet Modellers central in Australia got great starter kits with tools ,5 dvds and written pages I first did the amati adventure starter kit and watched the dvds on planking, deck planking masting and rigging. Enjoy and good luck with your first

Hi guys Sorry if this is not in the right area. I'm building the occre diana but she doesn't come with a stand. Have you guys got ideas on how to build one or just buy. I'd rather make one just need some idea's. Not real keen on the small pedestals Thanks guys for any advise.snowy

Hi richmond my first plastic ship was 30 years ago i remember she was about 500 long and 500 high. My problem was i didn't put her in a glass case and she deteriorated over time but i cant remember her name she was a 2 mast with sails .it would be great to meet somewhere I'm out humpty Cheers
