DenPink got a reaction from kiwiron in HMB Endeavour by kiwiron - FINISHED - OcCre - 1:54
Hi Ron
I agree with you re freight
Ie I wanted to get a Proxxon miller, asked for a price from Proxxon New Zealand they wanted $2,500nz.
Had a look at the Tool shed in Australia, I think it was just under or just over $700au + P&P and import duty it came to about just over $1,200nz.
A bit different to $2,500nz that Proxxon New Zealand wanted.
Sorry it is not Tool Shed it is MY TOOL STORE, sorry Dave for putting you wrong.
Denis.

Hi Pat,small parts from cornwall model boats have cheap freight with no gst added it works out good, not sure how whole kits would work out.Much cheaper kits from the u.k. than from here or Aussie for us.

DenPink got a reaction from popeye the sailor in HMS Revenge by Denis R - Victory Models (Amati) - Scale 1:64
Hi all
Sorry I am back again.
I thought I would show you how the wale's will fit.
I have not bent them yet, that will come when I have planked both sides of the hull.
Oh dear looking at the photo I have some filling to do ha-ha.
Question do I paint below the waterline white or just leave it.
If I paint it then I will use the kit wood, if I don't paint it then I will just use my stock wood like I am doing now.
Denis.

That is stunning work, Ron. There's a couple of shots where the background is just right and it looks like an ocean of smallish whitecaps. One could think it's the real one just from those pictures.

Hi Keith,
Yes I remembered to cut the holes. There are 2 holes, one in the decorations and another higher up on the stem. The one on the stem has not been posted yet. Thanks for looking out for me. It won't be the first time I forgot to do something critical until too late.

Hello Visi
Thank you also.
If I paint the hull then I will paint the wales black.
If I varnish the hull then I will varnish the wales.
I will carry on using my stock wood.

I like the wales you are putting on.
My opinion - The colouring depends on whether you will paint the Hull or Varnish it.
If you paint it - then I would have dark contrasting colour
If you Varnish the Hull then I would make it half strength darker for a "not so subtle" look
- My Vote goes with the Wood - but it is your call
Well done - looking forward to your progress & more pics

Hi all
Sorry not much work has been done on the Revenge.
I have done the first planking, I have to say it is not my favorite job to do on any build, I seem to have a mental block when it comes to first planking ??.
Any way on to the next job.
