A question for you. I think your Niagara is from Model Shipways?

If so, please let me know, so I can change the topic title accordingly.

    Good luck.

  4. Hello Augie,

Very nice. But when you enlarge the picture ..... It looks even better.

Like to wish those up North a Happy Canada Day -- tomorrow, while I venture up to my favorite lake at 10,000 + foot elevation to fish for the elusive arctic grayling (assuming the winter's ice has melted).

Back in the shop by the 4th of July !!    :36:

And so the hunt for the Arctic Grayling will begin.

Have a safe trip and enjoy!

    See you next week!

    Take care,

    Anja

  5. Hello Milo,

Antony (AntonyUK) posted a link for a UK outlet for timber:

    http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-identification/hardwoods/persimmon/

I understand you want to physically look at the woods to see the difference. But maybe these links will help.

Keith (themadalchemist) posted a link to the Wood Database: http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-identification/hardwoods/persimmon/

    Sapele: http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-identification/hardwoods/sapele/

    African Mahagony: http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-identification/hardwoods/african-mahogany/

    Honduran Mahogany: http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-identification/hardwoods/honduran-mahogany/

I have never worked with Sapele or Mahogany before.

So I can't help you with your taper question.

Maybe you can type in your question in the searchfield in the top right corner?

I'm sure you fill find some answers.

    I hope this helps.

  6. Hello Nenad,

I agree with Popeye, don't second guess yourself, trust yourself. You are doing great.

Even if you are not seeing a positive result yet, it will come.

Don't think you have made the wrong decision, instead know that things are working out good for you and that you are learning and growing.

There may very well be things you will do differently the next time.

Mistakes gives us an opportunity to fix all sorts of things we think we may have screwed up. We always make the best decision we have access to at the moment.

And last but not least, go easy on yourself.

Maybe it is not a good example, but in learning how to walk, you had to crawl first.

Maybe you even wobbled your knees a few times. But eventually you found your stability.

These are the lessons I have learned during my modeling.

We have a Dutch saying: the grass is always greener on the other side.

    Take care,

    Anja

  7. Hello Michael,

Thank you for looking in at my build. It is nice to see you here.

I know, I know ..... You need more pictures and more progress.

I promised to make no more excuses, but things have been quite hectic at work since the beginning of April.

They started a big renovation of the entire office building. And we at reception were sitting there, trying to do our work while all around us the demolition work was going on, drilling in concrete, welding, sawing, milling, layers of dust and very nasty smells. After putting in a complaint they finally moved us to a quieter and cleaner workplace. We now share our workplace with the security.

I'm free next week, so time and energy again for the Half Moon. Finally!

    Take care,

    Anja
