I am building my Sergal kit with the same attitude as you - my kit has the same issues with the sculptures as yours.Keep on doing what you`re doing - looks great.

That is actually an excellent place to use balsa. It makes it easier to plank to me.I have never had any planks come loose as long as the ends are securely glued

Hello Steve J.I built this kit many years ago .It is actually a very nice kit.I really had only one issue with it - the cast metal dummy barrel supports are not deep enough. As a result the bottom row of cannon stick out too far.I probably could have fixed it by insetting the supports farther or by finding some shorter cannon barrels. As far as research I can`t help you there - I didn`t do any research.I built it as they say "out of the box".

I will follow your build with interest as I also have this kit in the closet.Looks like you are off to a good start. I don`t know when I will get to it.

Great job! You obviously spent a lot of time on the gratings.

Thanks Joe!
Thanks also Michael.Luckily for me those small decorations in the openings are castings included in the kit although they were difficult to paint because of their tiny size. They are not entirely accurate but considering the age of the kit they look ok if you don`t look too close.

Thanks for your nice comment! There are so many things I am trying to "fix" on this it`s starting to feel like a scratch build.

Excellent work. It`s interesting to see the differences from the different manufacturers of this ship.

Thanks .By the way I know the towers are not quite as vertical as they should be but it`s too late to try and re-do them now.I tried to bend them some before putting them on but bronze does not like to bend very well except where it`s thin.

Looking good Matti. I raised twin boys so I always had twice the fun.
