Hello Michael. This is how I made the holes for the upper handrails - I first drilled the holes just slightly smaller than the square posts & then used a very small square file to partially square them until the posts were a snug fit.The holes are not perfectly square but you would need a magnifying glass to see it.Somewhat tedious work but it turned out nicely.

Awesome rigging! Looks like I may need to spring for some of Chuck`s blocks when I get to that point.

You`re doing a fantastic job on this build. I built this ship from the Panart kit many years ago but just used the cast decorations from the kit.Your carvings look much nicer. Istill have the plans - dated 1993.

Thanks everyone for looking in.By the way I know the upper round gunports look crooked but they are level with the deck.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Nigel - I seem to be drawn to ships of this era with their extreme sheer - they just seem so majestic.Buck - the top rail moulding is 210mm long & 2mm wide. It`s actually made of brass & has a flowery design stamped on it.I just touched the highlighted areas with a small brush with different colors.Don`t know if it`s correct but it seems to look ok to me.Sorry about the poor photos - I need to experiment a little more with the settings.
