I buy the kit at a local hobby store in Leiden, Sjaaks hobbyshop.
It save me around 50 Euro's.
I know that you can buy it in parts.
I will follow Donnie's Santísimi Trinidad and also Theo on this forum ( GTM)
Take a look at his build log.
And don't follow in silence.

Sorry , I missed your post.
The wood is not that bad.....
It's not Caldecraft but I can work with it.
The only thing with Ochre is that they have a lot of metal parts in the kit.
When you want to bash it then this is a good opportunity.....( difficult word for me )
But overall I'm happy.
And it is not the first OcCre kit that I'm building.
1 : Spirit of Mississippi
2 : Corsair
3 : San Ildefonso
4 : Santísima Trinidad.....
And Anja is building the Nuestre Señora del Pilar.
So you see.....we are keeping OcCre busy

You know me by now....one build at the time is not enough.
I know what you want to say....what about the Stage Coach ?????

When the popcorn bag is empty ....just re-fill it
I have plank the decks.
The lower gun deck has also a layer of tung oil.
And I see the other ones also .....Morning Sjors.
I also post a few pictures with the beginning of the planking and the end result.
The bow section looks if it needed some modifications but don't forget...there is a lot that comes at the wall.
So maybe a little sanding paper?

I received my new false keel today
OcCre has send the first one to my old address in Schiedam.
And the people who live in our house now has send it back to Spain !
I was asking yesterday by E-mail where my false keel was and they tell me that they get it back on Thursday but send it right away to our new address.
So I was expecting it on Tuesday but.........it was here today !
Very good and quick service from OcCre !

Time for a update.
As I told you before, I receive my false keel.
I place all the frames on it and I'm happy
Also the first deck is ready .
The picture you see the deck without any varnish.
Tomorrow I will place a picture with tung oil on it.
I will do that tonight so it can dry.
The second picture will show you "little" clamps
Just for sure that everything stick together......

Hello Anton,
Your vessel looks great, it is good to see that I am not the only one being building two vessels at the same time.
I just saw picture of the Willem Ruys you showed us earlier, my father sailed on that vessel as well, he worked in the engine room late 50th / early 60th.
He always told me that the need to pump a lot of water to one side of the vessel to keep the vessel straight up every time they leave the harbour at the beginning of a voyage.
This because al the passengers are at one side of the vessel to wave goodby to there family.
At that time this was for the most people the last time to see there loved ones, now we have the possibility to take a plane.

Another update on the quarter galleries. Still a few more decorations to finish, and the simulated lead window glass - I'll use acetate sheet for this. I've also included a photo with the kit included turrets on top. The shape of these are pretty good however the roof tops have open holes in them and in reality had guilded shingles.

One thing I overlooked until tonight was the after most gunport on the middle gundeck below the galleries is depicted by Van de Velde as a circular port with carved garnish... couldn't leave it so this is what I've done to fix this, again using milliput.

Sjors, I got to this point in only 7 years.....I probably should slow down and take my time.....
Carl, sorry to hear that. Epsom salt baths, stretching and a TENS unit all help me when my back acts up.

Hi all!!
Finally my kit arrived yesterday evening. I had to wait for her for 8 weeks. I wanted to take a picture of all what is in the box but my hobbyroom is simply not big enough to show it all.
Sergal renewed the building inscription, now also in Dutch.
I putted my new topic on the wrong place and also dubble, so I had to delete it all, so:
@Jörgen and @Sjors, you both have to renew your follow and @Eddie, thx for the tip. I hope I did it right now
