Thanks for your comments Michael.
I hoped Vasa II would be issued before I start with the rigging.
I am going to complete all the masts, but I will not start with the rigging. We are at this moment trying to sell our house and want to move than to a new bigger house.
once started with the rigging, transport will be very difficult. but before I need to start with the rigging there is lots of work to do.
If, what I do not hope, the sale of my house is delayed, I have some other models to complete also.
we have now a growing group of Vasa builders here on MSW and we are learning more and more from each other as we are most of us almost in the same stage of completing the hull and preparing for the big rigging job.
regards
Jan

Jan,
Good luck with the mast preparations.
Unfortunate, but not unexpected that Vasa II would be delayed. However, from everything that I understand it will be a HUGE help for Vasa modelers. I'm sure that you have read F. Hocker's description on the Vasa specific web site regarding the book's contents.
Your ship is looking excellent. This ship is becoming a popular build at MSW.
Regards,
Michael

Hi guys, a little update.
I finished with the bowsprit shrouds.
I must say that instead of using the white thread that comes with the kit to make the ratlines I substitute it with a light brown or beige color cotton thread. This was acquired in a fabric store and is named as "crochet thread" that comes in three thicknesses: 10, 20 or 30. I used number 30 that is the thinner one.
By the way, it is less fuzzy (?) than the one that comes with the kit. (lower one in the next picture)
Saludos, Karl

Hi Michael,
The hinges are chemical prepared, I used Brass Black for this.
I do not like the unprepared brass for these boats
I have with a previous model already some experience with this Brass Black and it is very good and quick to make the brass items perfect black. I do not know if this is available in a model store in the USA, but it is also used for guns so maybe a gun shop can help you with this.
