The ply so far is good, I used the rear deck ply to align the stern extensions. The mdf is also very easy to work. Commenced planking of the deck, still to scrape and tidy up My first model was Cruiser by Caldercraft, a bigger model, I hope I can get my hands in to Pegasus as it gets more complex. Is there a good source for strip wood in the UK?

Never done a billings so I've no comparison I'm afraid, the kit for me was good quality, just poor instruction for a novice.

Thanks, the instructions are poor but I was used to building RC aircraft, found out about rabbets and bairding too late, but it is a fair stand off model I think

If worried about water ingress why not seal the edges prior to planking?

Andy Hi I'm new to this hobby and will be building Pegasus as my second project following the Caldercraft HMS Cruiser, do you have any pictures or a sketch of how you tapered the false keel prior to first planking, and of rabbeting at the bow section. Did you use the original cannon, have heard the quality is poor, if not any good sourc for replacement barrels. Hope mine turns out as good as yours Regards Paul
