Jeronimo reacted to Gaetan Bordeleau in HMS Cumberland 1774 by Jack H - 1:36 &1:48 - POF - kit development for True Image Models
I could build (just the hull) in the basement at 1/12 scale... but it would be impossible to take it out!
At 1/24, I would like to build it because visually, it is a very nice looking ship and also the figurehead is ... just superb!

After some thinking... well, I could not build it at 1/12 scale.
There are physical limitations to the scale we can build: frigate: 1/12 scale, 74 guns: 1/24 no rigging. 74 guns, 1/36 with rigging
To build a 74 guns at 1/12, it would be the outside only.
The most difficult parts to build ( or more precisely, to reach) are in the hold. By example, physically at 1/24, the maximum span I can reach with my arms is in the hold.

Hi all!A little update
Using 3D software, we can capture the perspective of any angle of view, which is very fast, about a few seconds, this kind of diagram can be used to make the assembly diagram. Of course, also can make 2D shipmodel plans.

This is the 1:48 and 1:36 Trident, boxwood, Chinese and English versions. The trident of boxwood is just to show the effect at present. There will be Trident made of copper in the future.
I have also designed some molds for batch processing, and I will release the parts for batch processing these days.

Hi,
This is a validation model for kit development, and the work of hull part will begin soon. About 70% of the design has been completed. My partners will make 1:36, 1:48 and bow section respectively. All the photos from their buildlog are authorized for me to release in MSW.
This project started from NMM's original draught, True Image Model, a ship model studio from UK, which obtained a commercial kit license from NMM.
Now there are three modelers involved in the model validation. We will complete the bow section kit first, because it is relatively simple.
The wood used in kit is boxwood / pear wood.
Welcome to pay attention to our follow-up progress.

Your attention to the fine details of the forged hooks is nothing short of superb. I've never seen the metal tapered so nicely as you've done it. Brilliant!

Addendum: garnet tackle - Palan d'etai
I almost forgot something. Because to secure the garnet tackle, eyebolts still have to be attached to the deck. I also found out that according to the Paris model, the hauling part for the garnet tackle, which is attached directly to the mainstay, has to be led over a single block.
So for this purpose some parts had to be made, which can be seen on the following picture (double block with swivel hook only for size comparison):
See you soon ...

The biggest lesson that this forum has taught me is that each of us, regardless of level, is working hard at every detail. Even if we don’t see it in the end, taking things seriously is something we have to stick with. So I slowed down the shooting and tried to make the details as perfect as possible. Thank you for your support and attention to my friends!

Hi there,
the first strop for the heavy garnet tackle block with (croc à émerillon) the swivel hook is ready.
The others are then produced in the same way.
