Greetings, Your project can only be described as Museum Grade. A pleasure to watch your progress.
I have a question if I may. The barrels on the Bofors seem a fraction thick. I guess it could be the camera/lighting angle.
And then it could just be my old eyes playing tricks. Nice work with the camera by the way.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers

A project to be proud of. Attention to detail is excellent. Only you (with some of the Titanic fanatics) know where the mistakes may be.
You're good with the camera too. The only fault I could find is your work area is just too neat and clean.
    Thanks for sharing with us.

You couldn't turn a hull over for planking. If your ship's stem and stern were strong enough you could adjust the fore and aft clamps to work on the deck for instance. I just stick some pieces of firm Styrofoam under the side I want elevated to get a slant as needed.

I've been using mine for a couple of years now. Big enough to easily handle the ME Confederacy. Configuration is very flexible. I've even used some the
parts independent of the base. You won't use all the fixtures all the time. The wing nut idea is the way to go.
Is it better than what works for you right now? Probably not but I think it's pretty handy and have not been tempted to use anything else since I got it.

My Joy-Yard 1/350 Missouri is complete. She was a challenge and the instructions caused some stress occasionally. I learned a lot. Experience can be a tough task master.

This is my 98.75% completed Joy-Yard 1/350 USS Missouri. She is shown in early 1945 venue.
I'm finishing some main deck railing work, paint touch up, and a matt clear coat and she will be ready
for her seascape base. It was definitely a challenge for me and I learned a lot.
I was tempted to walk away from her and did take a ten day period of abstention but the challenge remained.
I spent an inordinate amount of time working through the instruction puzzle. The good amount of supplementary
material I had accumulated was a great help.
I have the framework for her seascape ready to finish and she will be complete.

Tigerdvr reacted to Bob Cleek in Mini self contained airbrush
My initial impression is that if these "self-contained" airbrushes which have recently hit the market are really the best thing since sliced bread, the big-name airbrush companies would be making and selling them, too. The jury's still out and I have no first-hand experience with them, but for the low prices of a lot of them, compared to the cost of a decent airbrush alone, I greatly suspect that the airbrush part of them isn't close to the traditional airbrushes in terms of quality and reliability.

I agree that if one is "just painting models" and not interested in airbrushing fine lines and "special effects" such as weathering and camouflage patterns, a less expensive "plain vanilla" high quality single-action airbrush would be the way to go, They aren't all that expensive. That said, for a few dollars more, why not go for a double-action model because you never know when you might need one.

Would not seeing how planks are spiled by a professional be a great training tool/method?
Having an good example in your hands brings much more meaning to the printed instructions of
    "how-to".
IMHO that's as close to having a professional like you looking over my shoulder and guiding me through the process.
