  1. Hank, Great work on the mast! It's so crisp! Did you CA the brass or solder it?
  2. Thanks for this!!! I've been struggling with how to display one of my models and this suits the bill finely.
  3. I'm working a model that includes wood cut with laser. this is great for the tiny details but i am having an issue of getting the char from the edges all over the pieces, smudging them, as i try to sand the edges. Anyone have success managing the char residue????
  4. The easiest one I saw was on the old MSW site: stick a pencil thru a styrofoam coffee cup. just turn the cup and poke through another sector of it for the next model!
  5. I vote for a scroll saw as well. I have a Dremel model that gets a ton of use for cutting out frames and other small, curvy parts and bits.
  6. Tim, good luck with the chest cold! question: how heavy is the hull block? any concerns with checking or other instabilities in such a large hunk of wood? r/ Jerry
  7. Hank, That drawing in Grimwood always fascinates me! The boat is so small and the anchor so big. I'll be watching your log. The hoy might have to be my first atempt at scratch.
