    Thanks all,

    @ Augie,

Thanks for my effort to give a little history lesson…..
You more then welcome to see what I'm gonna do with this small build
And please don't calculate all the ratlines…...
    It's gonna be monks work…...

    @ Pierre,

    No worries.
I will not start with her till the Mirage is done.
And that can take a while because somewhere in the future I have to work again…...

    @ Andy,

    Yep I know.
I could not resist to buy her.
The offer that is make was to good to let her go.
She's now next to me on an other table.
If i want to build her now I need the table of Anja and then I'm in big trouble !!!!!!!

    @ Frank,

    Thanks !
The admiralty paint that I've got for the Aggy was almost for nothing when I ordered the Aggy.
And they are not glossy, I check that !
So it's ( I hope ) another beauty when she's finished in 5 years or something like that

    @ Christian,

    Welcome !
I don't buy another kit otherwise I have a kit and no house and wife anymore
I have finish the two builds that I have before another one is coming in the house.

    @ Børge,

I hope it is interesting and I'll do my best to make it interesting.
There are a lot of shiny stuff but what about the wood?
    I have miles of planks……..
And all of those planks has to be cut.
Now I know why I bought a circle saw
I think I have a lot of fun with this build !
    Thanks for the good wishes.

Roger on the Dremel! Thanks for the miter box report.

I discovered the slot in the fwd bulhead is milled at the wrong angle for the lower gun back-wall. I'll have to file in the right angle.

I couldn't let you down Sjors.......I did get something accomplished.  I started by rigging the lower stays for the mizzen mast.  in the pictures,  I saw that there were two.......one was with hearts,  the other one I couldn't quite make out,  so I used two smaller hearts  {the small wood eyelets I made}.

then I did the upper stay for the mizzen

I wanted to do more with the shrouds,  but duty called for Gibbs,  and by then it was time for supper.  I did do the two I had set up on the starboard side........I did not tie them off yet though......I want to get the rest of them done before I do that.

I can't wait to get the back stays on and tighten all these stays up......I have one more main stay to do yet,  and there is one or two that are not as tight as I would like them to be.  I think that if I try to correct them,  it may upset the balance........this last stay that I speak of has the ability to make {one of them especially} matters worse........so I will have to be careful and stay on the positive side of  'absolute zero'.   it will be shrouds now......with a couple more lines to be added to the bow.

I've now attached and braced all of the bulkheads. Mostly this work was very straight forward and went along with few difficulties ( after I had spent considerable time opening up the slots when I first fitted them). A couple of the bulkheads were not sized properly and had to be adjusted by adding strip wood on the inner side at the top and reducing the outside by sanding.

Kudos to Model Expo for sending me the replacement laser cut sheet that I had requested in just a few days, which allowed me to complete the bulkhead  mounting.

I braced the bulkheads with strip wood, added wood blocks for mounting the masts and added strip wood framing for the drop down deck planking. Lastly, I sanded the bulkheads to get them level for the future decking. Next, I will do the gun deck gun port framing to help stiffen up the framing prior to fairing. I will leave the stern framing and the bow and stern filler blocks until that's done.

    Bit more progress.

Added the first four pairs of shrouds to the main mast. Just need to make up the two single shrouds and add them. Also added the stays between the foremast and the bowspirit. Getting the loop and the 'lump' (I don't know the term!) in the right place was quite tricky and ended up being a process of trial and error......

    Update time.

A series of laser cut 'fillers' is supplied.  Here are the bulkhead fillers which bolster the bulkhead former between the bulkheads:

If you look at the column on the left, these are 'extra' fillers that were supplied and labeled as mast fillers.  They are not in the practicum or depicted on the plans.  In discussing this with Ben (Trussben), I decided to install these at the appropriate locations.  I believe that they would be essential for a model that was to be fully rigged.

Additional fillers are supplied for the bow and stern:

Here, the bulkhead fillers (including the mast fillers) have been installed.  They were very accurately sized and needed only light sanding to remove laser burn:

Here's a closeup of the mast fillers which were installed at Fr 2, 7 and 13

Now for the stern and bow fillers:

    Finally, just an overview:

There will be additional fillers added at the stern later on.  I don't believe the bow will require more.  The overall frame now is pretty stiff ---- and straight.  The bulkhead uprights are quite high and fragile.  I may brace these before continuing.

Next, we will be building three sub-gun deck platforms from basswood planks before we break out the sanding blocks for the ever popular hull fairing.

    So far, so good

    Hi Augie

Those cannons looks sweet, a very nice upgrade compared to the suplied fitings.
Wish they could supply kits with better quality metal fittings.
    But its probably to expensive

    Hello all,

Thought it was about time I had a go at this. Not great with this sort of thing so hope this goes ok.
Started my Agamemnon March this year, couldn't believe how big it was when the box arrived.
This is my 3rd build, HMS Snake ( Caldercraft ) and Racehourse being the others.
Followed Mobbsie and Decoymans Aggie builds and they have been a great help.

For those wondering if I was ever going to get started -- I finally have gotten underway. Part of the problem was spending some time over a few days on the computer going over some issues with the kit with Sam Cassano, the kit designer. To make a long story shorter, Sam designed an alternate in the kit to allow opening up the gun deck and building up portions of the deck below. There were problems with the plans and the bulkhead former in doing this.  Sam will comment here on how he and Model Expo will address these issues.

I have now cut the former to do the deck drop downs, cut the bulkheads from their sheets and done some cleaning up on them, attached the rabbet strip, chiseled and sanded to the bearding line at the stern and attached the stem, keel and stern post. Since I am sort of the guinea pig on this kit, I have some comments for those following. The plywood for the former and bulkheads was difficult to work with: one of the sheets was not cut through by the laser and I have requested a replacement because the parts could not be released; even on the sheets that were fully cut, the tabs holding the parts to the sheets were large and hard to cut through -- I gave up on a knife and ended up using chisels; the slots on the former and bulkheads required considerable filing to open them sufficiently to fit; cutting the deck drop downs and the new slots for the affected bulkheads, after I figured out what to do, was hard work with saws and chisels ( hopefully this will now be resolved for the future).

Having said all of this, I'm still eager to go forward. Sam is intent on solving any problems and I believe that he will. Next up will be attaching the bulkheads.

    Bob

Kevin- I am using the KA Models Mk1 superset and Eduard PE; there are plently of duplicates but they do compliment each other fairly well; the Eduard set contains many details KA missed and vice-versa.

Foremast- I am airbrushing the superstructure with Model Master "Lichtrgrau" acryl and steel decks with Tamiya medium grey. The hull above the waterline is rattlecan Model master "Navy agressor grey" and below is Tamiya Guards Red (I think).

I have still been puttering along with her; I got the docking wings on along with may other details (with plenty more to go!)

I also am about 2/3rds through building all the AA guns:

I finished the development of my little table saw to a point where I could rip deck planking...and I ripped a pile.  The saw worked quite well.  I (as a Safety Professional) was leery of the spinning blade.  I used a push stick and remained vigilant throughout the operation.  In the end, I hardly lost any fingers at all and I have a pretty good stack of decking to use.  I'll have to do as much again but the hurdle of building the saw base is behind me.
