haven't started the fish box thingies yet harry key to them will be consistency that will be a good point for me to show how to use the proxon safely and efficiently not to show granny how to suck eggs but one follower has already purchased the proxen on my advice and I want to teach even a small table saw deserves respect

I can show a few simple tips trust me this is because ive made all the mistakes on the full size

I found with the spray laquer im using harry on the wheel house when I had to glue small parts on the roof with ca cause id already applied finish it left a small sort of clouded affect I was almost gonna rebuild but then I tried spraying a small amount into the spray can plastic lid and appling with a brush the clouded effect disappeared I feel that will work for using ca on the fish boxes however I do like your idea of pinning

Yup, Thanks Steve,

All Power Tools deserve that respect.

After my first few goes with the Small Proxxon, I managed to cut into the end of my right Index Finger, believe me, it cut really quickly!!

The Kerf is very fine, so compression and a week of Band Aids, all good.

(I now use "Push Sticks" whenever possible.)

I too have the Full sized machinery for Cabinet work, Etc. (I want to keep my Fingers firmly attached thank you. :))

Quick question hof looking back over the log in the pictures you supplied in page 1 I notice you fitted the handrails before the inner bulwark uprights did you find that made the process easier than fitting the uprights then trying to cut flush at correct angle

Hi Steve,

Yes I did.... :)

Did it make it easier? I don't recall but I must have had a reason for it at the time.

Have I helped? (Probably not)

Giving it some thought fitting the hand rail first would mean you get the advantage of fitting each upright one at a time fine tuning as required

I've put some thought into it I'm not impressed with the kit recommendations the handrail doesn't meet it just butts against the keel leaving an ugly space between

I think I will recess the two handrails in so they meet also I don't like how the uprights prutred the hand rails the kit calls for 3mm x 3mm ill will use 3mm x 2mm

I think I will fit the three by two uprights first then try the modified handrail using the ply wood originals and see how that works

I'll post pics tomo night with how it turns out

I'm thinking I'm going to run into the same problem.  They certainly weren't generous with material.  I find I'm constantly going into my scrap pile to find off-cuts to use.  I'll let you know if I get there before you.

Nice work Steve.

Regarding Rigging material, I didn't have any issues of quantity, but, this was prior to the A/L downgrade of course.

Hi Chap,

Regarding the Rigging for this, there's sod all in the Grand Scheme of things.

Shrouds/Ratlines, a few Backstays, Winch Lines and a few Coils of "Rope" on Deck. (My build anyway)

I used Wire for the Antenna Stuff.

(Incidentally, I am almost out of 0.25mm "Beige" for the PD but have a reasonable supply at hand "Post" Cutty Sark build. I intend to try my best to keep up the resources I have to hand. :) )

Looks fantastic...but if I may suggest...try using some bees wax on your lines...it covers up all those frizzies and smooth's out the line.  Cotton line is notorious for frizzing.

Super attention to clean detail....

Steve, would you mind telling me how you did your rat lines.  I'm at that stage right now and haven't figured out how to tackle them.
