Bob Cleek Posted October 14, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2019 Interesting article. It's another example of why fiberglass or epoxy "encapsulation" does not work. Anybody who's worked on wooden boats comes to know this, but the "fad" seems to continue nonetheless. In my experience, conservation is much more complex (also read 'expensive') when other well-meaning but non-knowledgeable folk have previously 'restored' an artefact or painting.
