You are doing great. This hull is not easy to plank with its voluptuous shapes. It is like a period ship in many regards.

About 90% finished now. Still some railings and details to add along with decals. Will have to make some replacement ones as the kit ones are yellowed and creased. Started the next build scratch zwarte zee in same scale.

Great work.  Following along.  My Smit Rotterdam is due to arrive this week.

How did you get on with it? My kit was one of the early releases, the latest one looks much improved regarding the sequence and parts design.

I'm now at the point of planning the RC installation for this model. I'm going to add one motor and one speed controllers per propellor running from a 6v lead acid battery. A 4 channel reciver. A bow thruster is already fitted. One channel for main motors, one for rudder, one for bow thruster and one for lighting.

I have some questions regarding the setup.

Are these motors sufficient for a model of this size. Roughly 3 foot long. Will probably use a 3:1 reduction gearing. For a prop speed of 3-4k RPM.

Props are 50mm 4 bladed brass props.

I also wondered since I'm going to have two speed controllers how will these be connected to the battery? Will I simply wire each SC battery leads into one plug?

My last question is for the bow thruster. I guess it will also need an SC. This will be plugged into a receiver channel but will this SC also need to connect to the battery? So 3 SCs connected to the battery and each plugged into a channel on the RX?

Any help for this is much appreciated. Thanks guys. Looking forward to fitting this boat out
