The galley Charles

In researching my family history I determined that my 8th great grandfather, Thomas Hamilton,  was in command of the HMS Charles in 1673. Now I need to make a model of this ship. Attached is a painting I found of her on-line

There is a plan in RMG collection (it is probably a later, 18th century copy or a reconstruction, but that's the closest you can get):

Thank you. I did see that plan.  But that would be a very ambitious scratch build for me.  I doubt that i would live long enough to complete it.

I built a model of her for a client two years ago and did a complete set of drawings based on drawings from RMG, discussions which Richard Endsor, drawings from Mr. Endsor's books and various other books from Goodwin & Lavery, as well as a contemporary contract of a similar ship from 1676.  There is short build log here at MSW if you are interested.

Than you for the offer. I will look into the build log. I never expected that someone on MSW would have built that ship
