Every time I set out I think "no more split hull!!!"

And then promptly ignore that and do a split. The Endeavor has a deep keel and draught, and plenty of sails. So split hull it is. She also has a rigging that boggles the mind. Not my mind, I lost that looong ago.

This time I did not spend hours drafting her myself, I took a short cut in the form of a download-able model. I can post the link if someone is interested. The owner sells these for $5us I think, and has a few more. I had to add the life boat as well as the rear windows. Not sure if those are called portholes. This saved me plenty of time, but I'll have to drill more holes. This particular printing resin doesn't like to be drilled.

We'll see

Ill be using @Robert Taylor build log as a reference, hoping he doesn't mind me peeking at his pictures. This build log has the best pictures anywhere on the net, thanks Robert.

No problem O.B.one glad my build can help you in some way or another.

Your build looks to be very small will be very interesting to follow and see how it turns out.

Happy modelling my friend.

Hi all.

About time for an update. The initial model was too small for the bottle I have. I never knew there were different bottle names. This one is called a flagon. Wide neck. So pf course I made the hull bigger. Yo know, have to make things difficult.

The reprint is in a new (cheaper) resin that still doesn't like to be drilled. The small rail canons also didn't print at all, so I'll add that later.

Started the rigging. Not hinged this time,  but rather inserted masts. Sofar I like it better than hinged, but that'll probably change very quickly in the bottle

Ignore the transparent elastics. That's for keeping the hull on the clamping analogue

Currently working on the sails. I wanted to do woven fabric this time. I saw that trick where someone stain one half of a piece of cloth with tea,  then pull the threads down. This gives the sails brown lines. I tried that. Didn't work. I chose the fabric because the weave is nice and fine. However the thread being thin breaks when you try and pull it. I then tried brown pencil, but that looked like brown pencil on fabric. In the end I settled on grey lines16955009503136310551826683862489.thumb.jpg.759bc6609139c2fb87e46c14bedaf660.jpg

Hey O.B.one, sorry I'm way late to the build log.  Just stumbled upon it today.  That is a well-crafted ship.  Looks very nice inside the bottle.  I'm anxious to see how your sails turn out (I prefer fabric ones myself).

I hope you are saving that polka dot material for your next build!  :)

Aaand it's a flop. Glue for the split hull got into the rigging. Hours and hours just went down the sewage.

Just as well. I wast happy with the propoetions and colors of the masts booms and spars.... but the Endeavor is going to be shelfed for a while
