HI Jaques , mixture of wood shavings and vinyl glue and brush on the planking to strengthen the structure and prevent deformation of the hull .

I learned it from an old cousin, a high-level naval modeler, whose models are exhibited in the naval museums of Liguria (unfortunately I didn't learn anything else from him ......) 😂😂😂

Cool! It seems like a good way to fill the space without having to cut supports to just the right size (or risk them pushing the bulkheads out of alignment).

That's right, the soft dough spreads on the planking without forcing and once dry it strengthens it and makes it a single block !!!
