A bit sketchy to say the least. For example the 1:100 Mantua Amerigo Vespucci model is normally $400.00 plus but they're selling it for 95.99 pounds. I didn't play with adding the kit to a cart and seeing what shipping cost are. I think the old saw 'if something seems too good to be true, it probably is' applies.

Rich, welcome to MSW. I wish you the best in search of a kit. Glad to have you aboard.

And everybody here will appreciate your doing so, I assure you. Theft of another's work undermines the whole ethos behind developing a kit in the first place.

All the best,

Previously built models (long ago, aged 18-25ish) POB construction. 32 gun frigate, scratch-built sailing model, Underhill plans.

2 masted topsail schooner, Underhill plans.

Started at around that time, but unfinished: 74 gun ship 'Bellona' NMM plans. POB

On the drawing board: POF model of Royal Caroline 1749, part-planked with interior details. My own plans, based on Admiralty draughts and archival research.

Always on the go: Research into Royal Navy sailing warship design, construction and use, from Tudor times to 1790.

That one threw me so I looked it up and it is what we in the US call dollar stores.  NOT a place to find ship models or ship model kits. Their ads show finished models for the same price as kits, what's up with that?

You may also not know that we have a social problem with homeless unemployed (and employed unfortunately) who camp out in shop doorways amongst other places.

That was of course a joke.

In reality a genuine site has been hijacked and altered is my guess. In Britain the website would be co.uk not .com
