I’m a pastor in rural north Georgia and I acquired a swift 1805 pilot boat model. Had a lot of fun over the years with plastic models but this is my first time ever working with a wooden model. I’m trying to just follow the instructions. My personal opinion is that the instructions in this kit leave a lot to be desired, but I’m working on it.

Hello, Wes! Very glad to have you aboard. One side of my 'kinfolk' originally hailed from the Ellijay area (Tickanetley) -- I don't think it gets much more rural than that.

Fortunately for that AL Swift kit, it has been a very popular beginner subject over the years, so we have a lot of finished build logs for it on hand. You can find them in this list.

Cheers!

Welcome to MSW, Wes. All I can say is, do not be afraid to ask questions once you get your build log up and running. Everyone here is so helpful and the willingness to share experiences and answer questions is more than commendable.
