Patrick,  Many thanks for your kind remarks.  In 1999, my wife and  I took our boat from Seattle through the Panama Canal, up the east coast, through the Erie Canal, Great Lakes, Caribbean, South America and back to Seattle over three years.  St. Michael was one of our very favorite places.  Had I known you were there, I would have looked you up.  However, modelling became serious after our return.  I've discovered that we have modelling friends in almost every town in the country and then some. One of the delightful unintended consequences of ship modelling.  Warm regards,  Gil Middleton

I am very happy to see your success with this model.  As a fan of Victory and presumably Nelson,  I truly hope you and all your build log  followers have taken note of the Trafalgar project in my signature below.  Adam is making progress but still needs evidence for the likes of the BBC, Netflix, and other networks that there will be an audience.  Please sign up if you have any interest at all in seeing a classic miniseries made about Nelson.

Cheers

Allan

Hi Gil,

It's been a long time and i don't know if you remember me.  Just wanted to say hello and also wish Allan the best of luck with the Trafalgar project.

Well this has been quite a read. I’ve built Sovereign of the Seas, Soleil Royale, Amerigo Vespucci and the Flying Dutchman over the last 8 years. I’m currently working on the Victory and have started to think I should learn more about terminology as well as using Scale Ropes.
I have to admit your knowledge of all things shipworthy is mind blowing but I have went through this entire blog and really enjoyed all the effort you put into it and plan to use some of your tips and tricks.  It sure I’m ready yet for the full deep dive but am always looking to get more accurate in my ship builds.
I’m also inspired to finally visit the Victory next summer in England.
koodos and thanks for the effort.
