It's good to see some headway being made on your Victory JP. You know... the thoroughness of your approach should be appreciated by these manufacturers as it really gives everyone an idea of how everything goes together better than the instructions.

Your fix looks great Popeye. I may have missed an earlier post, but are you going go with no cap rails at all to follow the pictures of the real deal?

My work would be 100000000% more awful if it weren't for this forum. This is what keeps me from yelling and pulling my hair out during work hours. The coffee isn't bad either.

Kimberly, I think you are referring to the scroll work that is supposed to be gold? I think you may try just using a method called dry-brushing. Just put the tip of your brush into the paint and drag it across a paper towel or napkin until almost all of the paint is off. You will barely see any paint streaking on the paper towel at this point. Then lightly drag the brush over the scroll work. You would have to do this over and over until the scroll work really pops, but it is one way to assure that you are only getting the scroll work. However you do the scroll work, I'm sure you'll do just fine. You've gotten farther than I did when I attempted this same kit.

Kimberly, I was hoping to see some success with this kit. I had started a build log for this exact same kit and my experience ended in frustration. I do agree that some of the parts are over simplified and some of the parts are ridiculously tiny. Your Constitution is built really well and I think you may find some satisfaction in trying the larger version of her. It is a skill level 3 but given the scale it's really easier to work on. Just my two cents....

Your Rattlesnake looks great JP. From your earlier pictures I would never have guessed that you gunports were different sizes. For what it's worth, I think you are doing a phenomenal job with your build and providing a mini-tutorial for others.

Hey Sjors, very nice job on your masts. This does mean however, that ratlines are getting closer.

Augie, great work! It looks like you are competing with Mobbsie for fastest builder on this forum. I'm anxious to use that exact same method of treenailing. It appears that it's a lot of tedious work but in the end I like the look of it.

I like the Hobbylite stuff myself better than the Elmer's. With the Elmer's I feel that it leaves a residue on the surfaces around what you're filling unless you are perfect at only applying it to just the hole. Just my two cents...
