  2. Hello, Sarah! Many thanks for an appreciation! My dog is my faithful assistant. Before I presented model on the Championship of Ukraine-2013, it looked at it and thought: "Yes, it is interesting, than it will end... I so helped the owner, so tried... And tasty there were these sticks from a pear, it is a pity, construction ended..."
  3. Hi, David! While I built the Corsair, at me many different photos of other models collected, over time I will show still something.
  4. Hi, Tom! The alloy on the basis of zinc (white metal) is exposed to decay (flower) under the influence of the oxygen being in air. As a result of processing of white metal by Blacken It liquid there is a chemical process and on a surface of metal the oxide film of black color is formed. This film (if not to break it) protects a metal surface from contact with oxygen and serves as good protection against decay. Even better this film works if after blackening it is easy to wipe a detail linseed oil. Thus improves as well color of a detail - becomes more intensive black.
  5. You come more often, always something will be the interesting
  6. I am glad that this idea was pleasant to you! Everything is very simple, and it isn't necessary to wait while paint will dry

  10. At production of gratings it is important to choose the size of cells correctly. J.Boudriot writes that width of laths of ruster and intervals between them made 2 - 2(3/4) inches (54-74 mm). These sizes got out so that the barefoot foot of the sailor didn't fail in cells of gratings and at least half stood on a lath. Below drawing from article Igor Kapinos http://sailmodel.ho.ua/articles/rusters/index.htm is given illustrating the wrong lattice with too large cells. By the way, I recommend to look at this very informative and well illustrated article.
  11. Cast details from white metal from kits can be painted, but good results turn out also when processing these details (after degreasing) in Blacken It liquid. On a photo the details processed thus from Montanes kit.
  12. I am quite happy with the fret saw with a changeable speed of cutting of PROXXON DSH 40
  13. Russ, You are right, but I didn't begin to change the name, on old MSW this subject was called as as JIG SAW. Tradition tribute...
  14. From the moment of release of a kit of SF II it became almost the most popular in modellers: French options http://modelisme-naval-bois.lebonforum.com/t141-san-francisco-ii-artesania-latina-1-90 http://modelisme-naval-bois.lebonforum.com/t6-le-san-fransisco-ii-modele-au-190-de-al
  15. Well, it is an example of use of the above described saw, anything essentially new.
  16. My house photographer's studio: five economic lamps of a neutral luminescence on 21 watts (three in a chandelier under a ceiling - the general lighting, two at the edges of a table in desk lamps from a workshop - local adjustable lighting); Canon EOS 400D cameras with a lens of 85 mm and Canon Power Shot SX 210 established on a support; photographing in the Av mode (a diaphragm priority), in this case a diaphragm 11, ISO 800; background - any suitable fabric.
  17. Production of gratings with a cell of 1х1 mm by means of a jig sawe http://gabierschimeriques.free.fr/modelisme/caillebotis.htm
  18. Interesting way of imitation of seams on a deck flooring. Some modellers, applying this way, bring on levels the black paint mixed with PVA glue. Thus strips between boards turn out a little more widely, than when putting one paint.
