Thanks Omega, The hull turned ourt well , I really like this blue ( Same as on Stars & Stripes ) I am having a blast building this boat, She practically built herself, every thing has gone smooth

Today, Was one of those days where you loose track of time and Bam , it's dark, My Morning started by Having Coffe outside and looking at the Boat, I decided that even though I used a semi-gloss white , I still got way to much Glare, So I wet sanded the Deck and Cockpit up to 2000 grit. ( that seemed to do the trick) Next I painted the Cabin and surrounding Deck area Dark Grey, I was actually talking with Kate this morning about the Grey on the Bruce Farr VO 65 Drawings , and decided to add some flat Black an 1/8 thinner to the Grey and wow is it close to the drawings,( I plan on doing the Graphics the same as the Drawings ) I then Painted the top of the Toe rail red as well as the Cabin highlights Cabin entry point on Deck and the Hydraulic end of the Boom Vang . I put her together so we can see what she will look like . ( nothing has been glued to the Hull, I also Sprayed 1 coat of white on the SAILOR 500 and both life Boat boxes. Here are the results

Thanks Michael, you are not a slow poke . I am fortunate that I have not encountered one problem on this build, so no Complex allowed.
Thanks Harvey, She's starting to take shape , this has been a fun build

Marc, I miss being at Kurt's when you decide to bring it in. I have the same problem here at my sisters. I can go out to the workshop in the garage but She would strangle me in the condition I am in. Ed likes to work in wood he has made a canoe as well as many other things. But his toys are bigger than mine.

robin b. - Thank you for your interest. You will not be disappointed.
tlevine - Thank you for this important tip. I did not even think about this. I will take your advice and redo the incorrect frames.

dgbot;
Thanks for the similar advice.
I removed the too thick of the frames and redid them so after measuring the hull I am off by 2mm. Which is fine by me.
I also measured where the canon holes should be and I am good to go.
Mirabell61;
Lots of scrap wood which is always used for something. Cutting and sanding wood is best done outside as I do not have a vacuum setup indoors to remove sawdust. So I plan to do most of the cutting and sanding of wood in late spring, summer and fall.

Hi Marc,
Trust you are preparing for a great Job to be done on the Staatenjacht. Boxes full of Frame fragments look like a large 3D puzzle to me right now, guess all parts are clearly marked.
Nice Workshop susiduary on the lawn of your garden, thats the right attitude when the sun is shining..., wish you good process and fun with the build

Marc,
I always advize caution when gluing up frames. When they are not the right dimension they can really screw you up down the line. As Toni remarked take care of the problem now because later it will be too late and all the labor you are putting in will be for not.

All the frames and chokes in the long clamp. Nothing has been glued yet.
These are the frames from the book from Ab Hoving. The original plans. This will be for my POB and it will be a only a hull.

This is a clamp that I copied out of the McArdle book. The clamp has 2 - 1/4" threaded rods with nuts and the wood is old plywood. It will hold any size hull together. Depended on the length of the threaded rods.
The cut out frames.
The scrap wood that I will be using for the ‘in betweeners’ of the frames or I think they are called chocks. Pieces of wood that go in between the frames.

Thank you Hans, I realized that these boats are very wet, so I sealed up the floor in the cockpit , and created an access in the cabin ( to add ballast if need be ) I just finished the second stage of the epoxy on the Deck and will have pic's later
Best Regards,
Pete

Today was another very productive day with the Boat ( I am enjoying building this one ) I started by making the spreaders for the mast, I then layed out and installed the eyelets for the stays, I then installed the spreaders , and painted 2 coats of flat black ( I am thinking maybe one more coat) I also painted 2 coats on the Boom, Then I Masked off and shot the final 2 coats of blue on the Hull, ( I am pleased with how it turned out ) When you look at the pics you will see that the bow section has been masked off as well . ( as that Bow section will be Yellow ) Here are the results

Before you decide to leave the frames as is, please check the plans and make sure that this does not impact some other part of the hull, such as gun ports, scuppers, etc. Making new frames is much easier than getting everything else in line later.

This was a warm day where I cut out all the frames in the backyard. All frames are roughly cut out so there is room for sanding them to the size they have to be.

Table full of Tupperware with frames in them. The real boat will be a POF but there are also frames for a simple POB hull I will be building.
The table is a bit messy, with the Mary under plastic (she is waiting for her display case and the hull on the left is a R/C Soling 1 meter. This model I bought used from a member in my local club. The fish in front of the speaker is a small puzzle. I create simple nature puzzles for kids with the scroll saw.
Chocks that are being glued to the frame.
