Thank you very much for your participation in my project and the motivating announcements. Thank you also to all the others for the LIKES.
And here are the latest pictures of the rigging of the topmast shrouds.

In the meantime I have created the preconditions for setting the topmast shrouds.
I made the necessary ropes myself.

Hello,
at the moment I make the heavy tye blocks with real sheaves. The single blocks are 7.9 mm long.
They have double stropps and are lashed with two eyes on one collar.

Hello,
here is the continuation of making the block strops for the guide blocks of the foremast top.

@Dowmer
@GrandpaPhil
After mounting the main mast backstays, I was surprised to see that they go very close to the top and partly touch it.
What happened there?
Is the plan wrong?
Are the attachment points for the lanyards on the channels incorrect or too far inside?
In my search for explanations I found what I was looking for. On the one hand, I read that it apparently often happened that the backstays came too close to the tops, and thus there was a danger of rubbing.
And, this is exactly the case with the L'Hermione as well. And, as you can see in the next picture, the backstays were dressed in the critical areas.
So this detail would also be cleared up. Accordingly, I will additionally serve the corresponding backstays in the said areas.
Finally, I would like to show you the double blocks for the shifting backstays that have been made in the meantime. The smaller double blocks are for the shifting backstays that lead to the mizzen topgallant.

Hello,
thank you for your positive comment. I also want to thank the others for the many LIKES.
Today I made the standing fore topgallants backstays.
For these standing backstays, two on each side of the ship, I make the lanyards from Japanese silk 3x 3, which gives a diameter of 0.40 mm. The backstays are made of rope with a diameter of 0.77 mm, also made of Japanese silk 7 x 3. The dead eyes have a diameter of 3.4 mm.
Here you can see the fore top head with the standing backstays:
And you can also see the mizzen top backstays. Please note the metal plates for the fids.

Greetings and thank you!!!
The production of ornaments began ... My plan was to first try to sculpt the wood and, if that didn't work, to create the sculptures out of clay.
I started with wood and ....... it works.
Catheads foreheads first created. Here's the face.
And when it worked, I continued with the already prepared Chesstree posts..

Hi All,
So reconsidering gaskets look once again ...and after some more research and discussions I didn't have any other choice but modify and upgrade them with additional ring.
Gasket should have two rings. First facing forward and second should face aft.
Furled sail was then tighten by rope running in front of the sail and going around to be looped and secured around second ring.
Now I pretty convinced that they look as they should and yard will have more accurate appearance
Cheers,
Matt

Thank you. I already know that a ship from this period will not have many credible sources and images. But I enjoy the building!
So far, I've just waxed the balcony..
I prepared beams for catheads. I will be the first to make the most demanding. Faces on foreheads.. The first is rough. He starts to smile..

Thanks for the like!
Created the basis of the balcony. Knee production combined with the production of knees under the aft deck..
I was milling my knees. I made a milling machine from a nail. According to the Russian style, which works..
The boat went up the keel for the last time. Knees located..
Before waxing..
I'm thinking of putting the railing down at the end of the hull, it will be fragile..🤯😲

Hi All,
Still on the wave to I have some little progress.
This time main yard.
As you might see on the photos main yard are fully "armed" with all sheet blocks and gaskets (gaskets were used for furling and securing sails to the yard)
As far as I found... gaskets ropes were spliced around the yard when not in use... however I kind of enjoying looking at them hanging down freely... so I think I will leave them this way.
Model will be without sails, as I've mentioned before... so I'm hoping for nice visual effect with all the possible fitted ropes.
Few photos...
Sheet blocks.
Milled holes for rope sheave imitation. Final shape and finish by hand using files and sanding sponges.
Few photos of the "fully armed" yard with all the sheet blocks and gaskets.
...and hung in place
Cheers,
Matt

Ondras71 reacted to Baker in Golden Hind (ex-Pelican) by Baker - FINISHED - scale 1/45 - Galleon late 16th century
This week has been very productive. The back stays of the fore mast and the shrouds are ready.
The shrouds do not have a serving.
4 reasons
The Vasa ship appears to be in doubt, only the Mizzen mast has this on one side.
The front shroud is far enough back to avoid hitting the sail.
As mentioned in a previous post, sometimes I get lazy.
And I don't have a ropeserving tool. But since yesterday gears to hopefully make one.
And Gorilla gel (The 3 gram patex tube is handy but is empty quickly).
Attaching the back stays to the channel in this way turns out not to be convenient. These ropes rub against the railing.
Presumably that is why this way was later not used animore and they were attached like the shrouds on the outside of the channel.
In the absence of belaying pins, hopefully the ropes were tied in this way.
Current status
Now first try to assemble a rope serving tool
Thanks for following, comments ans likes
