Today I basically did the same thing as yesterday to 4 more launches. today the Tamiya tape worked great I took the advice of Canute and put the tape on my jeans first, worked like a charm too.

Thanks guys. I have liquid surface primer. On the missouri i have to change the way i do a few things. But with the bismarck im basically done with painting anyway. Just the 2 planes are left I believe.

I will be sooo happy when these launches are done! Im so sick them. I have never had a problem with Tamiya’s masking tape before, but this is the launches so... with Tamiya tape I usually apply it to my skin first. Theory being the oil from my skin makes the tape slightly less tacky preventing the paint coming off with the tape when unmasking. And that usually works great. but the launches will not tolerate A smooth operation. So of course some hull red came off with the tape. I decided to touch up the red with a brush which I hate doing because it’s a different sheen and texture compared to airbrushed paint. But it is what it is I guess. here You can see the different texture and sheen. Oh and theres a new member of the flock, meet Pearl.

Holy crap!! Thats one of the most amazing things ive ever seen! That has to be home made PE. I dont think you can buy those PE sheet.... amazing!

I touched up the damaged mast and re-attached it. It actually looks better than it did before. I supose I can’t delay this any further. 😒I have begun the process of airbrushing the launches. So far so good. The first thing to do it to paint all the hulls with tamiyas hull red. pretty simple and came out ok. Next I will tape off the hulls and apply the greys.

This is what I found this morning. No one wants to fess up to it lol. Its ok **** happens. It should be an easy fix to reglue in 3 spots, touch up the paint with the airbrush and re attach it.... in theory. I bet I brake a railing or somthing on the ship before its repaired.

I rigged up the two cranes with EZ-line. And again forgot to paint the PE line to the hook. Also I dont know If I can put the crane onto the ship now or if They will be in the way when I try to put the launches on.

Omg those pontos guns have way more detail than the MK1 detail set. Amazing job! I’m starting to think I should go with pontos for the Missouri. Dude I did those veteran models guns for my Bismarck. I didn’t even attempt those tiny tiny resin parts lol. Way beyond my abilities lol. I could barely see them. Maybe I should start using magnification to help me. I love this build sooo much please dont stop lol. It makes my endorphans flood my brain, Its like a drug.

Interesting! The only problem i have is when im shading a painted PE piece. If i use a qtip it will rub the paint off. But I use a brush and its fine. I think thats because I dont use primer though
-
Ive used all acrylic paints on this build. I have not had any problems what so ever with the ak interactive wash. I do wait a full 24 hrs after painting to apply it though
-
Thanks! I use a badger krome airbrush with a .2 mm tip. Just a generic compressor set at about 15-16 psi

VERY easily entertained! So I’m probably doing it wrong, but basically I use these 2 products and tools. I dab the ak-303 wash into the crevices with that brush. But I have to shake it alot, the wash seperates in the bottle quick. I found these cool pointed q-tips. The point is key for me. Then I dip a q-tip into the white spirit, I make it just damp not soaked. Then I rubb the excess off with the q-tip. It works for me atleast.

I also left the PE line free hanging, i think it hangs more natural this way. I didn’t know you could upload videos also, let’s see if I uploaded the video right. EE98510B-05F2-4213-B1F8-A3F068514592.MOV

Time to shade the cranes. heres a before and after. Not to much shading, it came out good. then there was s few things I need to paint flat black. If you look close the hooks are painted black. And also the tentioners. Then after I put everything away I realized there was one thing I forgot to paint black. The PE rigging line to the hook needs to be painted black to match the EZ-line thats going on the crane. I can’t finish it today but thats the first thing I have to do next time.

actually should I even paint the pulleys? I wonder what color they were on the real Bismarck
