If its true and I suspect that it is.....then its not just the kit from Ocre that should be banned.   Its the only way they will learn but yes....lets see what they have to say.

Thank you all for the comments and support! I have contacted OcCre and they claim to "respect intellectual property", and will contact me about the matter in detail tomorrow. We'll see what they say!

Damn.. bastards strike again.   By all means, PM the moderators.  If they ban the kit from MSW, it might give you some leverage, like royalties for removing the ban.   Who would have thought they would pull a Chinese....

I'm very happy to finally be able to introduce MSW community to an exciting new television series that I am a part of. Produced by AMC, "The Terror" is based on a novel of the same name by Dan Simmons.  Last year, I was contacted by AMC and hired as a technical advisor on the show. I can’t say much about it yet, but I can confirm that they really did their homework.

The trailer has just been released. I hope you all tune in to watch!

cog I used tamiyas rattle can on the hull. I worry it will be to thick. Im very curious about tamiya surface primer, I hope it airbrushes ok.
Also the blast bags have some holes in them so I'm going to use some putty to fill the holes.  Then I will brush on "panzer aces white 70.344" and hopefully it looks ok

This really must be my lucky day!  The fashion pieces turned out okay and were really simple to do. For some reason I thought they were difficult. The hairdryer for shaping wood is the bomb! I never really had used it much until now, beats soaking and waiting. Like you I did both on some things.

Thanks Kurt,  putting the twist in the last plank section for the tuck was the least of the problems. Just wet the plank, fixed one end in a vice, applied the twist using pliers, and applied heat from a hairdryer. Took a few seconds only to impart the required twist.

ps, just remember to twist the plank the right way.

    Strakes below the Wale
Before I apply the second Wale layer I intend to fit the drop planks and first two planking layers.
I start with the first plank below the wale (3/16" x 3/64") which terminates at b/h J. and meets the Drop plank that will run to the stem.

    7313
Following advice from Kurt, Dave, and Erik I have decided to  run the planks at scale lengths and this first section runs between b/hds J and B, the next section between B and 12, and a final short strip to termination at the Square Tuck piece. This last piece has some twist in it to follow the curvature of the hull.

    7423
With the first strake fitted I can move onto the Drop Plank.

    7429
The last of several card templates to form the Drop plank.
From the plan the forward end tapers to 3/32" and the aft end where it adjoins the second strake below the wale 5/32".
The drop plank was cut from 1/16" sheet and using a jig sanded down close to 3/64".
It is then a case of sand and tweak, tweak and sand to get the bally thing to fit.

    7436
I stuck at it long enough to get thro' several card templates and three Boxwood versions before I got one that I could live with, which is not necessarily the standard  some of my more adept colleagues could live with.

At last after seven days toil the first two strakes below the Wales are completed, altho' in need of some serious cleaning up.
I will now move on to the second layer Wales.

We almost never had to use sick time. Every time we had to work a holiday we received double time, I always took half of those days as comp time. If we had to show up for court or had stand by for court on days off we received 1/2 a day or a full day if we had to show up. I would take those as comp as well. Then any overtime or special duties for city events could also be added to the list. As you can see one could build up comp time pretty fast and it was not uncommon for some officers to have a month or more at the end of each year. We also could give sick time away to another officer. I only did it once when an officer was hit by an drunk driver while making a traffic stop and was standing next to the driver's door. He had both legs broken badly just above his motorcycle boots. The State only supplied a certain amount of workman's comp for recovery and his recovery time went for something over 18 months so he ran out of state money and his available time on his own books. Several of us pitched in some time and covered him until he could come back to work.

Like CDW it was not all that uncommon for guys to retire with as much as one or even two years of comp/sick time to add to their retirement. If they left early though they lost all of their sick time!

I have finally hollowed out the last of the big blast bags. Heres a peek at how I did it.

All done,  thats the shavings from just one blast bag.

    and finally all 8

Now a trip to the hobby store for supplies.  I think I should prime these big guns I just don't know which primer works good with airbrush as I have never primed. I use tamiya paint so tamiya  primer would be a safe bet I suppose

    we have a thing called FMLA  {family medical leave..not sure what A means} ........you have {I think} 21 weeks of leave......paid or not,  I'm not sure {never done it}.
we get 192 sick days...we pay ourselves through our PTO accruements.   it used to be nice.......if you didn't use any,  any additional time accrued,  would turn into personal time,  which could be used anytime.   Wally has gone through so many changes these past couple of months....the sick time {we will never get to use},  no more personal time,  and the PTO  accruement program is prone to bugs and not very accurate.  it used to be good......now feel like we've been cheated out

Rats... I worked for the wrong company.  Ours accumulated to 30 days.  If you had more, you either had to cash out, give it to someone who needed it, or lose it.  Most folks lost it.  I gave mine to people who needed it as was done when I needed it.
