  1. Hello Mick, I am glad to see someone tackling the Will Everard ,she was the first Model ship that I did ,so I have a soft spot for Her.....I may even revisit the build one day and make a better job of her .If i remember rightly i used a car filler repair paste called Isopon as a filler, actually it worked really well ,it was easy to sand and gave a very smooth finish. Cheers Jack
  2. Hi Jan , When I built her I did not even know what a build log was to be honest , this was a number of years ago before i even owned a computer ,although I have posted images of her in the finished Kit built section, she has the Humbrol Azure blue colour scheme ,i may build her again in years to come and follow your example of improving on the kit contents , Cheers Jack
  3. Hi Sparrow, Very nice job you're doing there........i must try this sculpey business myself some time, especially after seeing Doris's efforts which are beautiful ! I hope you don't mind me saying this but I did prefer the original blue that you were using this one seems a bit too bright, will follow with interest as she was my first build and it's interesting to see how other people tackle builds. Cheers Jack
  4. I hope you don't mind me saying this Ray but i think you are trying to build her too fast ! these type of builds normally take 100s if not 1000s of hours to finish.......slow down a bit you will make a better job of it........it's not a race!. Cheers Jack
  5. Very nice clean work Timmo ....I especially like the stern Fascia colour scheme, i am toying with the idea of black as a background colour myself, this build log will be a big help to me in the coming months....if i actually get time to do any modelling that is ( isn't work a pain ) ,and on the choice of which shade of blue I have always liked Humbrols azure blue ( cc 157 ) blue with a hint of grey......i used it on my first build the Royal Caroline and i have not found a nicer blue since, I will post some images of her in the finished kit section so you can judge the colour. Cheers Jack
  6. Very nice work, really enjoyed your log....just wandering how the friezes were done? transfer or painted by hand,if by hand i take my hat off to you sir! Jack
