Derek C got a reaction from mtaylor in Dremel Drill pess adapter
The one I'm looking at is made by dremel and seems it would be handy to hold unit as reklein mentioned . Altduck check amazon they have the one made by dremel for close to same price

I have had one for a few years now and find it works well for modeling purposes. You can also use it as a stand to hold the Dremel when using the flex shaft attachment. I use the 4486 keyless chuck with mine.

I have one and its pretty handy for holding the dremel sideways to use as a more precise cutoff tool with the carbide wheels. Its a little floppy though for precise milling or the like'
. For drilling plastic I like the Ryobi electricians screwdriver with a special chuck for drilling plastic. It has lots of torque and turns slow enough not to melt the plastic. IThe Dremel turns too fast for that and doesn't have low speed torque.

Derek C got a reaction from catopower in 18th century longboat by Derek C - FINISHED - Model Shipways
Had a busy week at work but managed to get a little done this weekend. I built some legs for my mount . I used the pieces left over from the center of the bulkheads I made a template then rough cut the pieces using a drill bit and exacto knife. Then clamped them together and started filing and sanding

Hello
I started this longboat about a week ago , I am new to building model boats . I can't really rate the kit I got from MODEL SHIPWAYS , as this is the first one I have ever saw but I have not had a problem with anything yet and the instructions seem pretty straightforward there has been a few times I have had to read it over but that's probably cause I'm a newbie. Here are the photos of what I have got accomplished on it so far . I hope to finish hull by the weekend I will cheat and use the printed frieze under the top rail because it's to small and I'm not the best painter but I'm working on it lol will post finished hull over weekend,

Welcome aboard Martin , I am also new to this site , I have only been here a few weeks and find I cant stop looking through all the great build logs and there is so many other cool forums as well , I have used a few already , and have been warmly welcomed in each one . I find I learn something new everyday. I am working on a 18th century lonboat myself hope to have it done in the upcoming week . Start a build log so we can follow along with your nemesis and you will find a ton of help with the problems you might run across.
All the best
