  1. Dear Glenn and mtdoramike,

Thank you for your kind encouragement. I didn't flesh out my reason for selling in this post because I already sold most of my kits and tools through this forum.

My wife and I have sold our house and are moving to a 2-bedroom apartment. To facilitate our downsizing I sold my Byrnes saw and disc sander, and 7 or 8 kits that I never touched. You see, I went quite crazy with accumulating toys when I embarked on this hobby. All of those kits had become more of a burden than a joy, and I'm glad that they are in better homes now.

All was not for naught, though. Since you are both so encouraging, here are a few photos of the Bluenose that I almost completed.

    All best wishes.

  2. Hello,

I'm offering this kit for sale. Full disclosure: I started this kit. I cut out the center keel and the bulkheads. I sanded the center keel and made a template to trace, then cut, the rabbet. Then I chickened out and stopped. The kit is complete and otherwise untouched. Because I started it, I'd like to offer it for the cost of packing and shipping only. I'll also throw in Bob Hunt's practicum for the kit. The shipping amount will depend on your distance from my home in Boston. I'll accept PayPal or Venmo. Thanks for taking a look.

  3. Hello,

I'm selling my Auriou Rasps. Pictured are a 7-inch Modeller's Rasp, with a 10g surface; a 6-inch Modeller's Rasp, with a 15g surface; and a set of 4 needle rasps. All are very lightly used. I'm asking $200 $150 for the set, shipping included within the US.

  4. Hello, everyone,

Thanks for your patience with me and please forgive me if I'm slow to respond. It's tricky to manage all the DMs.

The sander is spoken for. That's a popular item.

I've had interest in the saw, the Fair American, the Rattlesnake supplemental wood package and the Constitution wood package.

    Thanks,

    Glen

And I thought that I went overboard when I started this hobby! I have 4 recently purchased model kits still in my queue to do, but I've finished 5 so far and working on my 6th. Hope you at least had the opportunity to start and finish a couple.  None of these kits are for beginners. As the saying goes, "looks like your eyes were bigger than your stomach".  If I had the time left in life and wasn't so deep into things myself already....

Good for you! I did a lot of work on the Bluenose. Got to the rigging and haven't made much progress.

  6. Greetings, Shipwrights!

I'm reluctantly posting this list for sale. I got into ship modeling about 20 years ago. With stars in my eyes I bought a bunch of kits, custom wood packages, practicums, and tools; I fantasized about the stunning ships I would build. Now, my wife and I are considering downsizing into a smaller place and I've come face-to-face with the hobby that I started with gusto but have neglected in recent years. All kits are untouched.
