I am very happy to announce after over a year of working on obtaining this that I AM NOW AN AUTHORIZED PROXXON DISTRIBUTOR. This should be up and running on my website by the end of next week. You have no idea how happy this makes me.

The question of where to find the Testor's Green Glue has come up before, and since many of us don't have local hobby stories nearby we tend to shop online for these type of products. I have this product available on my website for anyone in need on the Tools & Resource page. Here's the link for convenience.

Hello Lawrence, good to hear from you. It's good to be back. Updates to be posted soon. Great picture isn't it? At sea at last, and ironically a Humpback Whale sounded along side her shortly after that picture was taken....together "in Peace"...swimming and playing.

    Hello Texan 5:
You mention a product that I would like to buy.  Perhaps you can help me to locate a source.  The product is "TESSTOR'S GREEN GLUE".  You used it to secure the copper tape to the MORGAN.  I can not seem to find a source on line, or locally.  Any suggestions?

Hi Popeye, thanks for dropping by. I've been going to post on "the gang" will they be ready for Christmas? Yes, I will be resuming this log as soon as I can get back to work. My website has been taking my time right now, but it is getting closer to be finished as we speak. It should be done in a few more days and hopefully can resume ship building. Some big announcements coming soon.

Hello my friend, I haven't forgotten you...just got real busy. Your work never ceases to amaze me. The boat has come a long ways since I saw her a year ago. How time flies. I'm glad I got to see it way back when, that way I can really appreciate where it is now. Here's a Leffe Blond at you my friend. By the way you got me hooked on that stuff. Glad Gwen is doing well and healed as well as you I hope. Glad to see you checked my website. What do you think? More later, just catching up.

    Hello everyone,

The last few days I have been trying to make a set of work drawings for the dingy.  I am rescaling a set I obtained some time ago and transferring it to a blank sheet of paper.  I'm not being very successful with it due to the small scale.
If I go with these then I'll use the trial and error method.  Making the frames a little larger and then shaping the form with a sanding block.  I can also remove extra wood from the inside with a small rotary file in my flex drive adaptor.  I'll have to do that after the planking is on to have some rigidity.

Another way would be to draw a set in a larger format and then reducing the drawing to my scale.

I'm planning to use boxwood for the keel and all the frames.  The planking will most likely be done with veneer that'll remove from some maple plywood.  I have a few nice blocks of boxwood and can slice off a 1 mm board on my 10 inch table saw.  Well, actually I'll cut a 1.5 mm slice off so I can sand it down nice a smooth.

To show that the dingy was not flat bottomed but had some rather nice lines I'll attach a few pics of the original manufacturer's drawings.  I'll also show my first attempt at drawing a 1:1 drawing for the dingy.  Most was done by eye and hand from the actual lines.

As you can see this is a photograph of the drawing because of the distortion.  It's the measurements though that count.  Nice looking body plan.

This is my hand-drawn version 1.0.  Not too bad but unusable as is.  Just for the halibut I'll draw one up to a larger size and then reduce it on my printer.  I have nowhere else to go except for some standard home maintenance and cooking a few meals for my dear bride Gwen.

    Cheers,

Good Afternoon Boys and Girls and Ships at Sea.....we're back to the home port from our ventures along the West Coast. The RV thing seems to be longer and longer and might be a permanent full time thing in the future. Ships can be built in RV's so this could work, and all our tools are small enough to carry in a basement, so I could become a roving ship modeler. During the course of this trip, I have realized that it is difficult to communicate with all my friends here and keep up with everything. I have kept following all of you along the way, but not communicating since it wouldn't be "ship related" per the rules. Therefore, I have created a website concerning the Charles W Morgan. I invite all of you to visit frequently as it has a thorough detailed build log, tool and reference discussions, a Gallery and an email list form so that I can keep current with everyone who wants to follow along. It has a Blog and even a Ship's Store. The pictures that were lost a few months ago from this log are shown on my website instead of taking the time to try to figure out how to replace them here. The same amount of time would have been wasted. It is currently still being completed so please be patient, however, it is about 90%. I will continue to follow everyone's build and make appropriate commments as everyone progresses. I probably will only post significant changes to my log here on MSW and the majority of all other pictues and posts will be on my own site. I hope all of you will check it out, fill in the Contact form and follow along regularly. Everyone has been progressing nicely on their builds and I will be posting shortly. Please come look and let me know what you think. Please leave comments or email me.
Thanks guys, you're all the greatest,

    John

Hi Mike, I'd love to see you get started with your CWM. The one stop site is what I'm trying to accomplish. I hope it will be helpful to those that attempt to build her. Glad you got to visit her, must have been after she returned from Boston. You mike like this picture.
