I would suggest that the Moderators clean up the last pages of this thread with all the "when is the next update?", "any news?"-discussions. I know everyone WANTS to hear news but asking about it doesnt make it faster... Considering how active Jim is on this forum, I am sure we will be the first to know when there are any news. It is kind of clear that this kit has been delayed until further notice.

Seeing the sometimes intense discussion on things like this, I think some people overthink it. A kit is just a kit and you have to decide what quality and correctness you can put in it to get happy customers and also make profits. Woodenship are perfect for scratchbuidling and if you want to add or remove parts its quite simple to do that. As long as you are happy with your own build its noones business if you decide to paint it in pink.

Very nice.... do you have a buildlog? Would be great to see more! -
I realized that I have now completed the building phase of the model and reached page 48 of 54 in the manual. No more cutting wood, sanding, painting nor gluing parts. All what is left to do has been organized into this box. I have no clue how long time it will take to tie all the blocks and rig Speedy but it feels good to have completed this stage of the build. I will try to take some proper photos of how the ship looks like and post them in the next post. Thanks for all the nice comments and support so far.

Thanks for the advice, I managed to do the hard part without breaking it. The worst was to get rid of all CA glue. I decided to deviate from the instructions and add the top rail before removing the frames to get a more solid structure. Its hard work but I do think this piece will really add to the finish of the model.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
