  1. WOW 😮 She is really looking good. I love to see the sails going on, makes her come to life. Nice work, Phil. 🍻
  2. Nice detailed plans are helpful. I did notice that uniqueness about the Klondike’s deck. However, the Robert E Lee I built had the decks Cantilevered much further over the hull. I still have to add those timbers supporting the deck past the hull. Cheers 🍻
  3. I’m back in the ship yard… My wife is recovering well from her hip surgery and doing well. I got back to work on the Klondikes Hull. First coat of primer… Cheers 🍻
  4. You may find my build log helpful. I covered planking fairly well. I found the Stern to be the most difficult part of planking the Bluenose. https://modelshipworld.com/topic/32549-1921-bluenose-by-john-ruy-finished-model-shipways-164-scale-canadian-fishing-schooner/
  5. Bob, a am impressed you are so transparent, most of us would recover from our mistakes alone in our ship yard and post the results with no admission of the struggles. I for one appreciate and admire your tenacity. Nice work! 🍻
  6. Pictures look good, Bob 👍 If you want the masts to look straighter, just back up a bit and zoom in. That should give a bit less of a wide angle shot. If that doesn’t do it. You may need to realign your masts. Happy New Year 🍻
  7. MERRY CHRISTMAS May you all have a Great Holiday and a blessed New Year. Cheers 🍻 PS… Been a bit busy with life this past three months. I’ll be back on here after the New Year..
  8. Thanks Keith… Have a great holiday yourself. With winter come on here in Maine, I should be getting some more shipyard time. Loved following you pile driver and looking forward to Lula Cheers 🍻
  9. Keith, I miss doing updates. I haven’t abandoned the Klondike, life got in the way. My Wife fell and fractured her hip. She had surgery 9/11 to pin the hip joint back together and we have spent a lot of time with healing and PT at home. She is better now, but we are now in the holidays. I Promise I’ll get back on it soon, it’s good to know you missed me. LOL 😆
  10. It’s been a minute since I checked in on you Bob. I’m glad you are on the mend and back on it. 👍 She’s looking good. Carry on Sir… John
  11. That’s a great idea Phil… Of course you would add extra detail. 👍
  12. Nicely done Phil… Your work with the Silk Span is incredible. BRAVO 👏
  13. Very good reference, I enhanced my Revell USS Constitution’s rigging details using the wonderful diagrams and info contained is this book. GREAT BOOK! Cheers 🍻 John
  14. Thanks Keith… To be fair to Bluejacket, had I built the winch they casted it, the parts were done quite well. It was my Hacking of the parts to build the Klondike’s Winch, that roughed it up a bit. Thanks for your comments, I think it came out quite nicely for my first attempt. Cheers🍻
  15. Thank you Keith, your advice was very helpful. I can now add micro mechanics to my skill sets along with micro carpentry. 🔨
  16. Steam Winch… I purchased two Bluejacket steam winch kits and proceeded to modify them to create 1 Klondike Winch. CHEERS 🍻
  17. Congrats Greg… Wonderful work you can be proud. So much attention to detail. Great job. 🍻
