I have been following this build for sometime. It is very pleasing to see her taking shape beautifully.
You have done a master job!

Congratulations on finishing the gun rigging!
The ships boats look great as well. All the best for the new house.

Hey great little build you have going on. These kits are great to keep you busy.  I have the IL Luedo Mini Mamoli and are yet to start it.
I'd like to see the shrouds and ratlines! At least you won't have to rig deadeyes.

    Hi,

The metal pieces that were provided with the kit did not fit so will need a lot of scratch building.  Not something I am very good at, built the basic outlines of the stern galleries from balsa.  Still will need some more sanding and my best friend putty.  Will get the rubbing strakes fitted and the hull painted before I try to make the windows etc.

Made some more progress.  The additional lines and brass tacks arrived from ModelExpo, so I was able to complete the deck.  Added a couple coats of polyurethane to the deck - fortunately I was thinking a slight bit and did so *before* I rigged all the lines.  The deck is looking reasonably good.

Thank you for your reply BV. I'm finishing up the hill details now. I will post photos when the hull is done. My work pales when compared to the expert artistry of the contibiters to the forum, but I enjoy the time I spend building model ships.

My preferred method is to quickly pass a lighter flame under the length of the thread. This way the fuzz is not just hidden or disguised... it's gone!!!

Turns out John your idea is exactly what the rest of the pans read. Thank you for the tip.
Have attached the parrel beads and cleats.

Cheers John for your input.  No its not a stupid question. Unfortunately it is in a real hard to get to place with all the ratlines in place. And the only drill I use is an arcmedian drill.
Even if I had seen this before construction of the masts, It would of been tough to get a hole through there. The rest of the yards have this line simply drilled through the masts as shown in the pic.
So as the only option I see I will have to follow suit with the rest of the yard rigging.

Is it possible to drill a hole directly under the mast cap? Probably a stupid question, if you have no other options.

Violin blocks on the lower main and lower fore yards. The rest are normal blocks large and small.
Still have to attack blocks on the ends of the mid and top yards.

    Ok so now it's confusing.
The line (466 Dark line) that supports the yard (312) runs from the yard, Up and over the Donkey head (mast cap). And then from there, Down to a violin block belayed the the deck.
Thats straight forward on the plans but there is no way I can run the line through the Donkey head as shown in the plans.
The Donkey head is made of very hard metal and drilling is not an option.
There are no holes or sheaves to run the line over.
I could go over the front but that will look bad.

Also maby do away with kits such as the Blue shadow and Portsmouth Brigs? They are the same ship just different names. Just my opinion.
