  1. Are the canopy pieces all after market plastic? Can’t tell from the photo. 🙂
  2. Nice job Mike, top notch! 👍😀
  3. Thanks Robert, Yes it’s a room filled with memories from my youth. I collect things and have several modeling hobbies; wooden ships, plastic models (mostly aircraft), metal models, RC helicopters and planes… and I build guitars. Now not all that stuff at the same tome you know. It was cumulative over 40+ years of getting into this and that. 😁
  4. The cave is one of the small bedrooms in our house. When we built it, the kids were all gone and I declared this room for my hobby endeavors. Right now the work bench is a card modeling aircraft factory.
  5. I see your a clock collector. Do you refurbish or just collect? I used to build camel back clocks for a business venture.
  6. At least they gave the guy in back seat a stick and pedals. 🙂
  7. I can’t decide if your a wooden ship modeling master or a card modeling master… both!? 😁
  8. Thanks Chris, that’s my plan. Watching a few YouTube videos as I proceed. 👍
  9. Whatever level of paint you have on the above picture… in terms of realism the graininess is about what that “poured steel” looked like (tanks I’ve seen in person anyway). Nice job. 😀
  10. Happy Saturday All, Slow progress on the Warhawk (lot’s to do while the weather is nice 🙂), but here it is. Front fuselage and cockpit installed. The bulging front end is very hard to do. I’m discovering the “3 foot viewing rule” is working nicely. 😆
  11. To thine own self be true… I appreciate that. ☺️ Can’t wait to see what’s next!
  12. I feel ya Chris! My first attempt of the P-40 got to a point where I stopped. My second attempt is underway and hearing your story now is something I am also experiencing. Kit quality seems to matter! 😊
  13. Another beauty! You are an inspiration for those of us who are beginners at the sport! Thank you! 👍😀
  14. Happy Saturday All, I in no way want to hijack my own thread, (but it is P-40 related), I am so pumped about getting my first card order from WAK in Poland. If you ever do this, it will come USPS and they need a signature for delivery. We were not home so I had to go down to the post office and pick it up.
  15. Alrighty then, 14 days later, the cockpit is complete (the seat is just sitting there for good viewing). A total of 36 parts, YIKES, and we all know the minute I stuff this assembly into the fuselage most of it disappears and once the canopy is on, it’s all but gone. 😐 On to step 2.
  16. Tim Allen had a flying museum in Everett Wa and they flew warbirds all the time. From my vantage point at the Boeing Everett flight line, I got to see their P-40 fly many times, as well as a P-47, P-51, Hellcat, Bearcat, Zero, F-190 and more.
  17. Chris, I suspected that and yes I see how common that is on the digital sites. With the advent of AI coming, software improvements etc., we could hope the kits would get exponentially better. That goes for all modeling mediums and types. Dave
