Before building the handrails I needed to attach the Oar thole-pins (Oarlocks) and the Oar wear pads. On the real Reale de France the thole-pins wound have been a wood. I used brass rods.
The wear pads.
The shrouds will pass through these four holes and attach to the chain plates.

thank you very much Mobbsie.......I can't think of any place I'd rather be. your all such wonderful folk! if more people, instead of saying "I would never have the paitence".......would just sit down and apply themselves........they would see how creative thay are! it's hard, and sometimes frustrating, but when it's all said and done.....all that effort paid off. the admiral won't let me play with plastic......I'm good with that.......I've found more challenge, and creativity working with wood. being a member of this site and chatting with you fine folks, has bolstered me even more......and I thank you all for that. thanks for your suggestions and for your interest

I apparently was being papparazzi'd by the Admiral while I was shooting the final pictures of the Santa Maria. I was so focused I didn't even know until she started posting things on Facebook. She took a great shot though so I thought I would share.
Also one other update for those that wonder, still no bonsai tree yet. Apparently she knows a guy that grows awesome ones but he only comes out when it's warm and with all the snow lately he's been staying in. I'm sure I'll get it though. Once I do I'll post a picture and let you all decide if it was worth the trade.

I cannot imagine that you are less engaged to these children than to modeling, so you give them the best start to develop themselves to be ready for the future. Maybe even more important than building ships. With the most respect for what you are doing.
