  1. Beautiful work! I do have a question, though. Did you position the bowsprit halyard guide as per some instructions, or were you self-guided? I can find no solid instructions as to the positioning of the guide. and will glue really hold under the tension of the rigging? Ed K.
  2. Not my first kit, but first in 40 years! I started building this model that long ago, but 2 kids, and life interfered. I always told myself, "Tomorrow, tomorrow". Well. tomorrow has arrived. Now, if I can live long enough, I WILL finish her. These pictures are a start. Funny, I was having trouble taking good pics with my old camera(a Sony dslr), but picked up an older Nikon Coolpix, and man, what a difference! This is one beautiful camera. Only one problem. It shows warts and all. Looking at the pictures, I see every little flaw. Lots of paint touch-ups to do. I know I am not up to the standards of some (read any) of you, but I will give it my best!
  3. I am building Soleil Royal. I need help identifying what these holes on the inside of the hull are for. I think my kit is a leftover 1977 kit, as the parts are tan, but these holes on the inside of the hull I can find nowhere on the plans(original). Please help!
  4. Yes, but the kit is an older kit, with older nomenclature, and Heller paint numbers. Trying to gather stuff before I begin, and numbers are no longer good, I gather.
  5. I know this isn't the forum in which to ask questions, but in which forum DO I ask questions?
  6. I finally received my heller Le Soleil Royal. Yowzah, lot of parts! The box looks as if it has been around for longer than I've been around. The parts were still attached to the parts trees, so I was able to see that there are actually no parts missing, as far as I can tell!. Only one problem. No rigging twine. Zero, zip, nada. I seem to remember someone on one of these forums, mentioning Glow2be.de, saying they would give replacement parts. Anyone out there know about this place? Sure would help. Thanks in advance.
  7. I haven't started the build yet, but gathering steam. Is there a preferred tube cement and liquid cement? I built the Cutty Sark back when the dinosaurs ruled the earth, and all we had was tube glue. I have even read about using Super glue, but I don't know about that.
