  1. I started to build the James Craig about 3 years ago and lost interest, so packed it away and forgot all about it. That is until I discovered it in a big cardboard box in my shed. So out it came and back into building it. The model is a BIG one 2 metres in length.  I plated the hull with sheets of copper to make it look like a steel plated hull, each strip was made to look as if it was riveted.

James Craig was built in Sunderland England 1874. By the name of Clan Macleod. as a 3 masted steel hulled Barque.

In 1900 was renamed the James Craig.

  2. A friend of mine saw a person about to throw out a model of the Berlin into the garbage bin. He grabbed it and brought it around and gave it to me. It is in a pretty poor state but I am detirmend to rebuild it. I have been looking at a Berlin build by Ferit Kutlu. Have included a photo of my HMS Victory by Jotika. 4 years and just about finished, life boats and that's it.

Will keep you all up to date as I slowly rebuild the Berlin.   John Edwards

  3. I have been watching your building of the Berlin. A friend of mine saved a model of the Berlin that was about to be thrown into a garbage bin. It is in a bit of a mess but time and care I should be able to salvage it. I hope you don't mind if I follow your building of the berlin. The photos I had taken are to big so I will have to work out how to reduce them.  John Edwards
