  1. I just post some pictures so you can see what I mean. Everything I try was not working. So I have send OcCre this morning an E-mail with the same pictures. I'm curious what they are saying about this. But I think it's gonna be the best way to go to the store and see if I can find some wood of 5 mm thickness. Then I have to scratch a new keel. But I will make that then in one piece and not two. But first I will wait for an answer from OcCre. Sjors
  2. Thanks for the answer mtdoramike, I will see what I will do. Still time to think things over. @Jörgen, You are more then welcome . And there is plenty of space left on the first row. Sjors
  3. Story continues..... Everything is dry drift to see how it goes. At the pictures you can see that there is a warped keel/frame/bulkhead. I put clamps on it to see if I can get it straight. When I glue the frames/bulkheads ,maybe I can keep it straight. I know that the glue I'm using are very strong when it is dry. What do you think. Sjors
  4. I have moved the clamps and place the re-enforcements to put the false keel together. That is drying and I hope that I have a straight false keel. If not, I have to see what I'm doing. In the mean while I'll be starting to make the barge's. Then I have to do something ! Sjors
  5. I have done something The front false keel is still under the clamps. Also frame nr 8 So I place the back of the false keel. There is a beginning ! ( and in the back you see the Nuestra Sēnora del Pilar from Anja ) Sjors
  6. Welcome Zoltan ,Piet and Willy Nice seat Zoltan ? @ Piet, For you a chair in front... You need a magnifier ? @Willy, I buy the kit at a local hobby store in Leiden, Sjaaks hobbyshop. It save me around 50 Euro's. I know that you can buy it in parts. I will follow Donnie's Santísimi Trinidad and also Theo on this forum ( GTM) Take a look at his build log. And don't follow in silence. If you have comments or questions.....just saying it or ask it ! Sjors
  7. Drilling and sanding and drilling and sanding and drilling and sanding...... Assembly line work Nice ! Sjors
  8. Thanks Mark, Now you are saying this....... Why not using a spray can ? I wish you tell me this before I was almost done Maybe for the next ship with a lot af decorations ?? Sjors
  9. I see some have equipment Ken for the sanding. But it makes it a lot easier ? Looks good! Sjors
  10. @ Ulises, I understand it. So then I building it by myself......boring ! @ Waitoa, Welcome ( even you don't see a thing yet ) @ Popeye, I save you a nice, relaxing chair ... Still no progress . The false keel is still under the clamps. Maybe tomorrow ? Sjors

  13. Hoi Elijah and Ken, @ Elijah, Yes I know ,I should take a picture. Now it is under a big plank and clamps. I will take a look tomorrow how it looks otherwise I will scratch a new one. @ Ken, It's not that difficult. When the glue or paint is drying, I can switch to the other one. It's not the first time that I'll be doing this. Sjors
  14. Thank you all for the comment, likes and more of that funny stuff..... @ Mathew, There are 135 issues. I'm now on 129 so 6 to go. @ Pat, It's gonna be an heavy model when finished @ Christian, I prefer a "avondje in de kroeg" then all that painting...... Now I can again see the difference between a kit and this....... @ Piet, Thank you ! @ Hennie, Be happy that you are getting something when you are waiting.... I get nothing and I was waiting for one whole week between ordering and getting But your kit wil also arriving one day....... Sjors
  15. Hello all, The Santísima Trinídad was built in Havana and launched on 2nd March 1769. It was the biggest warship of the 18th century, with 130 guns. After taking part in the naval campaigns of the late 18th and early 19th century, it last saw active service at the battle of Trafalgar, under the ensign of rear admiral Cisneros, where it was dismasted by the English fleet. Measurements: Length : 1060 mm Heigth : 876 mm Width : 415 mm Click here for more information about the Spanish ship Nuestra Señora de la Santísima Trinidad. I already cleared the workspace to make room for her. But alas, one piece of the keel and one frame were warped. The keel was so terribly warped, and I was so surprised by the look of it, that I totally forgot to take a picture. Sorry Enjoy, Sjors
  16. Thanks all . @Anton, I forget you I hope that Uises can now make a decision. @Bob, Thanks @Popeye, No worries, she don't go into the closet. When i do that i think that Anja will .....me 😩 Sjors
  17. Thanks Ulises, The main reason to choose for DeAgostini is because I could do it by prats work. Every month I receive 4 magazines with building materials. Nice reading things and I could spread out the money. It's gonna be more expensive then when you pay at once for the kit but that was my decision. Should I do it again? No! Reason?..... The material ( wood ) is bad sometimes. Change a lot of wood. Bamboo for the planking is not that beautiful. And because you are receiving each month something you have to follow there way of building. It is difficult to look forward. I have almost all the magazines and find out that I still need decorations to paint and placed when the shrouds are all reading attach at the ship. Even with the ratlines ! So I'm happy that I still painting and nothing has done at the masts and all that funny stuff. I know that another Dutch builder is building very soon at the SotS from Sergal. By the time he will started ( I hope this weekeind ) I shall ask him. Or watch for your self...... Sjors
  18. Hoi Ken, At my manual those colors mean...... Red sanding and green needs filling and then sanding........ Sjors
  19. Here we are again with another paint update.... I'm still not at the end of the decorations.... There are coming a lot more. But here are the next few..... Sjors

  22. Bleach the wood ........ Why not ? It is lighter and it looks not that bad. Sjors
  23. He Anton. You are using the caulking on the hull planking? Curious how that looks when it is finished. Sjors
