Time for a update. As I told you before, I receive my false keel. I place all the frames on it and I'm happy Also the first deck is ready . The picture you see the deck without any varnish. Tomorrow I will place a picture with tung oil on it. I will do that tonight so it can dry. The second picture will show you "little" clamps Just for sure that everything stick together...... Sjors

I received my new false keel today OcCre has send the first one to my old address in Schiedam. And the people who live in our house now has send it back to Spain ! I was asking yesterday by E-mail where my false keel was and they tell me that they get it back on Thursday but send it right away to our new address. So I was expecting it on Tuesday but.........it was here today ! Very good and quick service from OcCre ! Thanks OcCre !!!!!!! Sjors

I'm just thinking how I have done those crowfeet.... These are different ones then what I have. Maybe a way is, put a rope to the stay direction deck. Enough tension to let it straight. Do the same upwards and then make the feet with enough tension. Good luck. Sjors

@Wayne, Welcome also. You found a nice place ? @ mtdoramike, Thanks Mike ( I call you Mike if you don't mind ) I have soak the keel for 1/2 hour. Then I let it dry for 3 days with weight on it. When it was dry yesterday I make it loose and in 1 hour it was this again. I see that you are living in Florida. With a lot of sunshine ? I'm from the Netherlands and sunshine is a weather thing that we don't see much...... Then a concrete driveway..... The only way that we are having is a highway ! And I can try that But Occre is sending me a new one so I'll will wait for that. But thanks for your help! Sjors

I can do anything Viking.... I'll have to wait for my replacement ! And I just received an E-mail from OcCre "This warped it’s due to the change of temperature. When you place the hull reinforcement, the keel gets straight, but your keel is very warped. We will replace it. In some days you will receive the replacement pieces." So they have really a great service ( what i already know ) So, I'm gonna wait.....and wait.....and wait..... Sjors

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
