    I was in the south of France for 2 1/2 weeks and missed a lot! The only thing that i not will read is that you damaged the ship. Better to read that you fixed the damage😊 Now i can read again with joy..... Wonderful job Bob! Sjors

    Thanks Ulises. No. I'm not painting the hull. The lower part is gonna be the wood that you see in the first picture on top and I love that. Above it is the wood you are now seeing under it. Maybe a layer of tung oil and that's it. I mean rubbing strakes.....I have change it.....thank you I think nervous about the coming holiday in France in two weeks.....yippie ! Sjors

    The first planks are on it. I go a little bit different as what the manual is saying. Normally you have to do the planking till the hull is closed. Then you will place the rubbing strakes. I will do it the different way. I have all ready sanding the planks and will put now the rubber strakes. Also glue in the frames for the gun ports for the upper deck. Then I know that I have a straight rubbing strakes..... Sjors

    Big city to launch Rotterdam Anton The Smit Rotterdam went to service at Juli 1975 and demolition in Juli 2014.....in Panama. To bad for such beautiful tug ( Also the London ) Sjors

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
