I received my new false keel today
OcCre has send the first one to my old address in Schiedam.
And the people who live in our house now has send it back to Spain !
I was asking yesterday by E-mail where my false keel was and they tell me that they get it back on Thursday but send it right away to our new address.
So I was expecting it on Tuesday but.........it was here today !
Very good and quick service from OcCre !

Bottoms of the quarter galleries sorted, lower dead lights enlarged and a the British royal crest added to the sides. Also have added a couple of the trim pieces to the head.

Decorations a mix of new and provided sergal pieces on the f'cstle bulkhead. I love the busy look of the carvings on this ship.

For a change of pace from the decorations I've started some deck planking. Fore peak, f'cstle, quarter deck and poop deck are planked. The half deck and waist to go. I've imitated the caulking with black marker like the hull and the treenails with the ebony filler for the tarred ones. Once sanded down should come up nicely. What a difference the planked decks make!

Port side second planking complete, now to clean up the gun ports to the correct size, ill then have to plank the transom but still yet to cut the four lower ports which will need to be done first.

Those long build days are wonderful! The down side is when you spent 8 hours straight and only have one side of the shrouds ratted down and you have to point out what you did to the Admiral as in her eyes it looks the same as it did that morning....
Well, I didn't spend 8 hours today but the couple I did manage to get in real quick allowed for the completion of the Captain's cabin. Next up I need to start building the framework for the stern. As I will not be using the kit provided window frames as they are set to the 5 window pattern and I am going to model the 6 window pattern, I will have to scratch all the framework for it. Truthfully this is a better solution anyway as the cabin build outs have caused the floors and side bulkheads to change alignment and no longer fit the kit piece very well. The other thing this allows is for me to run the wiring up inside the framework for the stern lanterns. Once those wires are in place I can close up the remaining hull and begin the dreaded sanding phase...

Just a quick update/preview of the Captain's quarters. Bulkheads are going up, floor is planked and doors and furniture will be appearing soon.

Down to two short planks on this side. I'm using the Philistine method of making stealers. I just use sharp points shaped to fit. I'll leave the correct method of making stealers to real ship builders and the purists.
