Hi Sjors, The kits are ok in that most parts fit reasonably well, my beef with OcCre are the instructions or should I say the lack of them. There is so much guesswork involved with them I almost feel like a detective. Were getting there though, I must post a pictorial update soon but I'll bring you up to date.

All the deck furniture is on and I have an issue here, it appears that the cabins are out of scale to my anyway, the Bowspit is made up and fitted with just a few bits to go on, you know the sticky out bits that get broken to easily, they wont go on until ready for rigging.
The fore mast and main mast are almost complete, they've been stepped but not completely fixed, still a fair ways to go and I have the added problem of having to fix the sails, should be fun.

So there we have it in a nut shell mate just a whistle stop info tour to bring you up to date.

Retirement......for you it's 5 weeks Mike ,for me a little bit longer 😞
10 years ago you can ( have to ) get retired at 65......now it is 66 and 10 months for me.
It depend in what year you are born.
Yesterday was my 65 birthday so I know that I can go on for more then 1 1/2 year.
But ok, it is what it is.
    The the update.....
All deck furniture is on it.
    Bowsprit is done
    Lower masts are in place.
Now I can go on with the shrouds and ratlines.
Not so much as I use to be.

Hi Guys, The center plank was left out because it is the center plank, otherwise known as the master plank, it is slightly wider and all deck calculations come from the plank. Most ships will have it built in, or so i'm led to believe. I'm open for correction if i'm wrong.

I have an up date to the log which I hope hope most will find interesting if not entertaining. I dont like the stern on this ship and as I was working on it I had it between my knees, (these are my third clamp). I must have put too much pressure on the ship because it disappeared from between my legs and hit the floor with a resounding thump, after having cooled down and let the air change color back something like normal I picked her up only to find the the Fore Peak had snapped off. The only way I was going to repair it was by cutting more of the peak away and cutting a new one, Iv'e never done this before but it's only because of the experience and advice over a long period that I took it on, no need to worry, it all came out well, the new Fore Peak looks ok.
The ship is coming together well and I'm making good progress on her, the hull is complete with all the chains plates on, looks ok.
Enough written word, it's picture time, dont forget I'm open to all comments good or bad, if you have a bad one the give me a suggestion as well.

    A little update again.
Coppered the rudder, make the ropes to the steering wheel.
Place the poop deck and stern deck.
Painted and the decks are done with Danish oil

Got some planking done this week.  Working bi-laterally so moving along slowly but surely.  One thing that I found that was critical is some balsa forms on the first frames to guide the planking.  Not included in the kit but really needed to get some good shape to the bow.  How she's looking so far:

    Hello Slors,

I'm going to follow this very interesting and nice build of the nicest Victory kit on the market at the moment, my fellow countryman.
Keep up the good work and posting.

    Hi mike,

I don't know if the tape hold.
It's for me also the fist time.
    Time will tell.
In a few weeks I will order the Victory and it will take some time to get to those copper plates.
When they are still on the Snake I will take the change.

Tell the Admiral that you NEED that lathe for tapering the mast and the chop saw for straight planks 🙂
I have buy every month a tool.
So it was going with not much financial problems.

Because I'm home I do a little bit more on the Snake.
    But I prefer my job.
Monday and Tuesday I will ride  a few hours with  co-worker.
Just for two hours to see how it is going
Wednesday I have a health examination for my work.
I hope I will get that otherwise I'm not a bus driver anymore.............
    Enjoy your weekend.

    Update time,

    I have glue the frames.
Also the support on the bow and sten.
Then the lower gun deck and the support for the false canons
Also removed a part of the upper support. between frame 9 and 10.
    My first thought was ....strange.
It cost a lot of problems to get that support into the slots and the I have to remove a part.
But, Horatio Nelson needs a way to get on board on a easy way.
    So it's not the entrance.
    Enough talking, time for pictures!

    Hello all,

    And yes, another Victory build!

    Welcome all.

My apologies to Amati, but I couldn't wait any longer for their Victory. So I ordered the Caldercraft / Jotika instead as a present to myself on the occasion on my upcoming 40th work anniversary in August.

And boy, she is big and heavy. A box filled with 15 kilo's (33 lb) of all kinds of goodies.
