  1. I've made a bit more progress - I have a lot of the trim painted and now I have to do all the touchups !
  2. As you can see, I have my ship mounted on its display base. More photos to come soon I hope.
  3. Well I am making some progress, but i just havn't been posting very much. I now have the hull completed and painted and some of the trim put on - strakes etc. it is now very slow going as there is a lot of trim painting to be done so I am spending a lot of time "Watching Paint Dry " very boring !!! I am very happy with my build and the quality of OcRee kit. Veru detailed instructions !!

  5. Hi Floyd I mite try and find some new sail cloth and do the sails again - I think I can make them look a lot better and I will be more careful in the ironing so as to get nice straight edges.

  8. It was pointed out to me that I have the spelling wrong in the header this log - I can't figure out how to change it - anyone help me !!!!! Don
  9. I'm at the stage of making sails for the Bluenose - I don't have a sewing machine - does anyone have info on doing the sail edges using fabric glue or for that matter, any other meand of creating sails. Thanks Don
  10. I came up with a solution for my sail ring delema - the rings that came with the kit are very lite weight plastic so I am going to split them with a knife and slide them over the mast and put a drop of gap filling super glue on the cut - I think that will work ok !!!
  11. Whoops - I pulled a boner - I quess I will chalk it up to a Senior Moment - I stepped the masts and forgot to put on the sail rings, so now I have to unglue them and do it rite - Like they say - Live and Learn or maybe even better - read the instrutions.
  12. Got a bit more done in the last few days - I now have the deck furniture in place and have the masts stepped .
  13. I finished the second planking and have one coat of wood filler on the hull - now I have the dusty job of sanding it nice and smooth.
  14. I finished the second planking today, and started to apply wood filler - it looks pretty good to me, so tomorrow I will start the sanding. I will have some pics on my next post. Merry Christmas everyone !!!
