They're looking really good, Mark! Perhaps you're going to need a seagull or pigeon to just finish off the effect.

Keith's right. From a few drawings on a screen to a ship in the blink of an eye!

Is the large pipe sticking out above the starboard wheel the engine exhaust? Of course, if he had a diesel engine, he wouldn't be quite so worried about fuel tank venting, plus there's no indication at all of what might be hidden behind that huge "Billy" signboard.

Of course, every modelmaker knows exactly what a tractor's rear axle gear oil pan looks like! We all spotted it straight away. 😄
A nice bit of lateral thinking there, Keith.

Thanks Keith. My treatment is now complete and I'm just struggling at the moment to get some energy back, but I hope to be back to the 'Duchess' at the end of next week.

Ian, yes, the same John Harrison. Three of his wooden clocks are still in existence.
As an aside, several years ago we had the Harrison chronometers on display at the National maritime Museum here in Sydney. A couple of older blokes approached me and asked if the clocks were really made in the early 18th century. When I confirmed that they were, they said, "So, all hand made"? "Yes", I replied. One of them then said, "Mate, we've been toolmakers all of our lives and we couldn't hope to do anything like that"!

Tankers of that period have a beauty all their own.
If you build her "half and half", how will you handle the masts for the tanker half?
