Great job on "fixing a hole". I am a "Bondo" guy and that crumbling effect has been a tough one to beat. My previous "fix" was using CA to coat the 3M Bondo. But that Superglue is too tough to sand afterward, if a further fix is needed, without damaging the plastic. I will be doing the lacquer thing in the future. Thank. Nino.

Gene, This is a FANTASTIC presentation of your models. Superb work. Love your General, especially the "wood" floor in the Cab and the really nice stack of wood in the Tender. Thank you for the nice high quality photos, direct from the Camera. ( Great work on the rails too; nice painting for realism.) This is a great site for Model Ships. Niels (FSM member), posts here too. You will also find a few other folks that you know. Jim.

torpedochief, Thanks for starting this Thread. My stash is up to 2 of the old Renwal Ethan Allen kits. It's about time I started one. I always wanted to try and get the corrections made to the interior so Please continue to post Pics. I suspect this Ethan Allen model reconstruction will bring in quite a bit of interest. Nino.

I have a set of Heller HMS Victory 1/100 English Instructions
nino replied to joel361's topic in Plastic model kits
You can try this Model Site, Super Hobby. They had posted all the parts and all the pages and IIRC, it was in English Link: https://www.super-hobby.com/products/HMS-Victory-110139.html The BEST site for info on the HMS Victory Instructions is: Link: http://www.pete-coleman.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=2584&p=21672&hilit=instructions#p21672 If no luck, re-post your request. I was sent some copies of scans of the IMAI instructions. However, The scans I have are in Japanese! See attachment. Edit: Here is an update for IMAI instructions: https://www.bishophobbies.com/2009/05/18/hms-victory-imai-or-heller-1-100/ Nino. sample PAGE 1 2017_05_31_09_27_08(1).pdf -

I have a set of Heller HMS Victory 1/100 English Instructions
nino replied to joel361's topic in Plastic model kits
Does anyone have the IMAI version of the Heller 1/100 HMS Victory instructions? I understand IMAI also sold the kit but with better Rigging materials and a Very Good set of instructions. I would like to get a copy of the IMAI version. I think a copy was on the "pete coleman's victory" site but the site is gone now. Thanks. Jim. Edit: Pete Coleman's Victory site was restored. http://pete-coleman.com/forum/ucp.php?mode=login

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
