very nice!!  they fit extremely well!........I can see when you fall into the dark side..........well.....we'll send out a search party!  I'll bet you made jig saw puzzels in a past life    ......the only thing I will suggest though,  is be careful with the edges.  these parts should fit flush together,  with hardly a seam.   I feel...like a heel....to make such a big deal,  but perhaps a block, or a rounded chock,  will sand them square,  so when they're laid there,  will be jointed flush and fare.

sorry........I caught a bad case of poetry......

    Time to change your avatar....

In all reality though, the ship looks great and the poetry had me nearly folded over laughing. The two together were fantastic. Thank you!

in case the slippage problem occurs......you could always add your sandpaper idea into the mix......you'd have a clamp that won't stick .....and won't budge either

I don't want to interfere in this discussion but you are right Andy.  I think that's because everybody has to re-post his/her build, and now you can easier follow a build from start.
We all had to start all over again.  That creates a bond.
And even If I talk to much I think it is an expression of my feelings that I'm happy to see all those builders (old friends and new) back on track.
We live in different parts of the world, but together we make it a small world.
Thank you guys and gals for the fun, the serious talks and all the help during my build(s) .

I don't disagree. Seemed like yesterday, in particular, was a bit of a free-for-all. And it was fun. Since the crash the fellowship of the "surviving" members is stronger... And I think everyone is trying to reinforce that.

Grant - I think the scale has a huge part to do with the challenge - there are times when it feels insane. I'm looking so closely at something and paying so much attention and I'm unhappy with how it looks, not realistic enough, or not crisp enough. Then I pull my face back another six inches and it all looks better now (until I take a photo and it is MACRO) haha.  Thanks for the compliment

Sjors...I just feel bad that the photos aren't really interesting but I do have a sense of accomplishment

That's exactly what's in The Art of Rigging. Click on the link I posted. It shows every knot, splice, line, and stay for several rigging types. It goes into detail on each step.

don't  feel bad Augie..........I do the same thing.   there are times where I'm doing something really intense......the camera can be stiing right there {or in my pocket}.......but I fail to get a picture.   you did a swell job.......nice recovery..........the fact that you even mentioned it, is enough for me.  I don't need a blow by blow......"with the circle and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one "

do you know where I got that phrase from?

yepper Bob........that's what I'm getting ready for!   funny to see my table cleared.....LOL!   I'm also going to do the sail for the lobster boat as well........I seem to have lost the diagram for it,  but I just took measurements,  and I've drawn it out.......all is good

the admiral will be shocked to see the sewing machine coming out of the closet......perhaps she'll do them for me.........nawwwww,  not a chance.....I'm on my own,  good buddy.   thanks for the good word.......

thanks Frank,  John and Patrick!   they'll look even better when I get them striped and in place.   you know.....this really isn't such a bad idea.......posting a dual build like this....    my only suggestion for anyone planning a future build of this nature,  is to do  'like'  builds.... battle ships,   sail boats......etc.   this sort of a taffy pull brings up some pretty funny comments......  I can see that anyone who read this build log in the future better have the bathroom close by........'cuz their gonna wet their pants browsing through it!  LOL!

love you guys...........I love a great sense of humor

    Hi Bob,
Minor setback. I just completed the scores on frame 3aft, you know the one with the real fancy toptimber. Had it in my hand, did not notice I left the drawer open on my workbench, swung around and snap!!! Ahh! is all that came out of me, and then OH WELL, Doris Day"que sera sera"(whatever will be will be). remember that song? well back to the building of a frame tonight....
can't take this hobby serious. If I did then I would be stressed and that is the reason i took up my modeling building hobby again. to get away from stress!!!

haha, I wasn't expecting (nor do I want) snap together, but at least some usable diagrams and a parts list that uses the same words as the instructions/drawings. I'm looking over at the "advanced" kit we picked up at a swap meet and it has an entire 50 page book on just the rigging....

I'll just keep in mind that Sjors would like photo-documentation of the minutiae of our lives.... Save having this "miss-understanding" in the future
