Hi jdbondy, The Molds were beveled prior to the ribs being bent over them, It was tricky, the floor timbers were glued to the Keel, and outer edge of the Ribs ( Titebond 3 ) with a paint brush very thin to hold it in place, I went very slow and made sure not to get any glue on the molds, it worked out very well,  When I started planking the glue was also applied to the floor timbers

    Best Regards,
    Pete

Great build log! Since I just started following it, I have a question about an early entry. When you installed the floor timbers prior to beveling the frames to accept the keel (January 12th entry),  how did you securely attach them to the ribs without the floor timbers becoming stuck to the molds? Were the molds masked with tape? It seems to me that there wouldn't be much available gluing surface between the edges of the ribs and the floor timbers.

I need to update a few things that are happening as we are waiting for spring. We are still waiting for the foundry to reopen next month.

Here area few photos of the restoration continuing on the real Bittersweet.  It is fun to compare.
I took Bittersweet junior up to David's shop.  She enjoyed seeing many of her big sisters resting for winter.
all those floors are in, the keel glassed and the bilge hard coated[ the gray].  The inside planks and under deck are painted and we are ready for the new teak sole.
here is the hard part done getting the layout for all that new teak.  I love it.  He is also working  to restore the deck painted finish. David had given me scrap teak wood to copy for the model.
Look as those fittings...I made the bases. I note David turned the blocks to align, so pulling the halyard to the new winch is a straight line.  oops I did not do that on the model.
Here is the real jib track in Bronze.  I think we came out OK on the model. I am so glad we made this change on the boat.  It was stainless.
After much talk we agreed not to reinstall the old Bittersweet mahogany sign board.  My rear admiral chose the red outline and font  for the gold letters and we have real Bittersweet.  What I liked was I was able to order small sized letters at the same time so the model name is exactly like the real thing.

    OK back in the shop.

I got the sails and rigging on and mostly done on Ought 6.  There are a few more clevises and things to make to complete the work.
Today I took them out side to get a little sun.  It was still cool but they were happy in the breeze.   This Photo is for the sign board as i will take Bittersweet to the Owls Head Transportation Museum annual show on Saturday in Rockland. cheers

Today, After another coat of Varnish was applied to the Spars ( Mast and Boom ) I turned my attention to installing the Cockpit coamings. I started by finalizing the fit. I then made the brace that fits between the Coamings on the forward bulkhead. Next, I made the forward Coaming block, I ( once satisfied with the fit ) I installed the coamings brace and block. I then stained the block and brace cherry red. Next will be to varnish the Cockpit Coamings. Here are the results

With a good Start on the Haven 12 1/2, I thought today would be a great day to make the Rudder. I started by laying out the rudder profile from the drawings, I then cut out birch ply for the tiller slot. I then tapered the Rudder, Sanded and installed it on the boat. I then sanded the entire Hull with 400 grit sandpaper marked and taped off the waterline, I then hand brushed Testors Flat white. ( this I feel gives it a more Anti-Fouling paint look ) I just unmasked it and took the pics. I am very pleased with the results and I am going to omit the blue water line. Next will be to make and install the Hull moldings, and to make the Cockpit coamings. Here are the results

With all the Family functions now out of the way, I started by cutting out the hole in the Transom to allow the Tiller to pass thru. I then decided to add a piece of birch to the inside of the transom ( cockpit side ) and then gave the Transom more shape. I then built and installed the aft Deck. I then started on the Main deck framing. Next will be to finish the Main Deck framing and install the Deck. Here are the results

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas, I was able to sneak in some building time last night and this morning, ( Before the New Years Eve Extravaganza ) I started by framing in the cockpit seat walls ( the proper seat height was also something that I wanted to get right on this build ) I then installed Birch plywood ( Stained Cherry red )  to the framing, I then framed in the Cockpit locker hatch openings ( at this point I decided to keep the Hatches in the shut position ) I then installed the pre-laid out and grooved birch ply for the seats. Next will be to Frame the Rear Deck, I hope that everyone has a Safe New Years eve and a Fantastic 2016. Here are the results

    Hi George, Pete and Frank
Many thanks for your comments. I must admit that I'm really liking the way that she's turning out....and to think I almost gave up and abandoned the whole project at the start of the construction, because it looked too difficult. I guess it just shows what a bit of perseverance can do.

    All the best!

    Cheers
