  1. still to do replace or update the through braces fix the brake system put carriage onto through braces insert lighting put in seats and benches driver position rails roof rails hinges to doors foot rests PE lettering and a general tidy up good evening more done off the still to do list the through braces were tightened up a lot more and now carries the weight a lot better, still more to add so it will sink a little lower completion may be delayed as the stanchions have gone missing, i will either order some or make them now away tomorrow so she wont be finished by the weekend

  3. i am making my own ropes for the Amerigo Vespucci, using the Domanoff VR3 rope maker to make the 8 sizes required i went for different thicknesses of the Gutterman Mara threads available in the UK by William Gee i could not get the colours i wanted so went for white and staining as required by india inks to stain i use the messy procedure of pouring the content into a jar, coiling the thread and dropping in, ensure it is fully soaked, and then pull one end back out through the fingers to remove the excess to get the tan colour i am just using serpia colour

  9. good evening everyone good day today, sun was out, so the wife was happy, dog was happy, had a visitor, first one to see me in years, other than family, even brought my new build stagecoach boot finished, it could have been better, but looks like a covered area as intended and the drivers area is also in position
  10. perhaps one of the grown up could suggest a way ahead wrt previous started topics in relation to this build do i delete them or do i start a new topic and link the previous topics rather than three sections this will be the 7 foot version in a cutaway format, an expected year to 18 month build

  13. the way it has been designed, as per the real ship, it is quite strong, wrt to being card, i will protect it with modge podge, which is a varnish many of this kits are given a outer protective layer and used on the water with RC

  18. good afternoon everyone put some go faster stripes on, as i bring this side to completion
  19. thank you for the comments, i will look at the shoelace and leather ideas mark i feel i would run into all sorts of problems and get very messy doing that, i had to cut a piece of wood of the dog yesterday and that was just with wood glue lol
  20. good evening everyone most of the main coach body work is done now, a few pretty strips still to be added i may have to rethink the suspension straps, they are very springy and quite saggy the door hinges are on well the rebates are done (they will not be opening) i used a bit of tape to hold the drivers cab in position, the glue in the coach is to offset the front weight nothing is fixed yet
